Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm hopefully only 6 weeks away from delivery of my new Typhoon. I don't have a garage to put it in and have been wondering what would be better to protect the beasty from the elements: a good quality car cover, or a free standing awning with sides and steel frame - I've seen one in Supercheap. Couple of questions: Car covers usually say that they shouldn't be used on "new paint" so does that also apply to new cars? They usually recommend 6mnths old. The "tent" I saw a Supercheap was 6.6m long x 3m high - much too big for my parking area in the backyard- I need one max 5.5m long and 2.2m high - does anyone know if there are companies that make these in different sizes? Your ideas/ info appreciated Cheers Frank (Typhoon, Auto, Neo, 6p Brembos, Leather, electric pedals, mats) |

I would go with the tent/shelter. Outdoors i think the cover would mark the paint if car wasn't clean or dusty + it would be a pain to cover all the time.. The shelters are good IMO.

My experiences with car covers are they dirty and do more damage too the car then the elements, Dirt Water marks scratches etc.

Go the shelter but you need to be aware of you local council regulations. I have heard of people getting fined for not having council approval for these "structures".
