Default One of My Pet Hates is People Advertising Their Cars

...and saying they're fully optioned. Like when I was buying a certain model wagon I'd ask if it had the sunroof... well, no, but it has everything else. has it got the leather seats, umm, no they're not ....

You get my drift.

So, a quick look at carsales.com.au and you get wally meisters like the guy selling a black BA Pursuit that's fully optioned but for starters it doesn't have Brembos>

Carsales False Advert

I really wish liars like this were told off by the companies taking the ads but in the meantime this guy is added to my '****er file'.

That's like the local Holden dealer had a Phantom n/a xr6 & on the slip in the window it said the car had a Tickford engine. Funny thing is there is nothing on the whole car that has tickford written on it. ****ers.

You gotta love the fully loaded Falcon's advertised as "loaded" when they turn out to be povvo pack GLi's/ XT's.

Or the dealers who advertise Falcon as "V6 POWER"

Or my favourite "Top of the Line" Fairmonts. Maybe these people be taken to a Ford Dealer and shown a Fairmont Ghia, then a Fairlane and then an LTD

I had a laugh at the expense of a dealer when I was last shopping around for a car trying to explain that the BA they had on the yard wasn't a V6. His reply, of course it is mate, they don't make them in 4 cylinder.

I was ****ing myself as I walked off their yard.

Whats worse is dealing with people who think they bloody know it all when they ring up about your car your trying to sell.

The Tickford one is pretty bad. It was only recently that the QLD Gov't stopped advertising all it's Police BA Falcon's at auction as having Tickford Sports Suspension. Only took them 3 years :

"The car is as new, and truley one of a kind. "

How is it 1 of a kind? i'm pretty sure FPV made more than 1 pursuit :P

and it says it has the premium brake package....but no sunroof, so i dont know if its got "every" option

An ad in the paper today read something like this...
BA XT Falcon V8
5.4, quad cam 260 BOSS Motor, 5 speed Tiptronic auto etc etc..
The car was $24k so it's definately an XT and not an XR8.

lol, I was reading it and thinking 'I wish'..

I always laugh when I see a cars engine advertised as "fully worked" which half the time amounts to an exhaust & filter

I saw a stock standard Honda Jazz for sale. It was advertised as a "sports car". I don't think a Jazz would ever be a sports car!

Holy sh!t... then what does that make an Echo? Used car salesman, soooooo shifty, so overpriced.

When I was looking for my car all the car yards around here wanted no less that 7k for some beat up old e-series cars. I eventually gave up and bought my EF privately for $4.5k and it's waaaaayyyyyyy better nick that all the ones I saw in the yards.

He says it has "hard flat, colour coded tonneau cover with an optional spoiler".......I don't see the spoiler in the pics. He also lists it further down:

"Body Kit - F&R Spoilers, Skirts, Rear Ap"

Although I guess he didn't actually say it was fitted to the car, did he.

Or when you are looking for an "ORIGINAL" car, with a new engine, paint and interior :

Mate, you should talk to some of the local bozos at ford used cars up here. One of the stealers was trying to tell me that:

BA XR's are tickford enhanced.
the BA XR6 engine (NA model) is higher output over the XT and Futura.
The only AU xr6's that were enhanced by tickford were the Series III ST's
Tickford contracted out the specs of the AU xr's to external people to mod the cars!!!

oh, and they also ran an ad for an XR6 which had "V6 power" written in it.

Another dealer tried to tell me that the BA XR6 had bigger valves, which increased torque, but not FWKWs!
