Phenomenal, other worldly, these are the words one would usually use to describe the 'normal' Veyron, the words to describe this haven't been coined yet.

Also, surely they must be getting to the limit of what is physically possible with acceleration and speed.

I thought all Veyrons were pretty much limited edition... as in limited to people who can afford them!

Now I want one even more :(

As if the car wasnt limited edition before...

I think the only thing that could match the pace would be the cost, or insurance!

Incredible overkill.

But i think thats what adds to the car . The fact its just a pipe dream for most makes it so desired also the 0-100 time helps also .

A quote from Mark Donohue in regards to the 1000 horsepower Porsche 917 he was driving"

"People say that once a journalist asked Donohue whether he shouldn't be afraid of controlling that absurd mass of horse powers. The United States driver answered very simply: "To me there isn't power enough till the wheels are skidding at the straights end, when I'm up shifting."

Considering this Veyron has AWD, it will take a bit more power to achieve this - so it doesn't have too much power!

I have always been critical about the Veyron’s weight.
Is that 1880kg a wet weight or a dry weight? “Normal” Veyrons are meant to be around 2100kg wet. How did they get the weight reduction (I doubt that they would sacrifice 4WD especially with those acceleration times)?

On a more positive note:
There were rumours that Bugatti had pulled on a sporty version so it is good to see that they still went ahead with it.
Volkswagen also said that they had the choice of pumping cubic dollars into F1 or developing the (what the average person considers to be ) world’s fastest car/world’s most powerful car.
After seeing what few results Toyota and Honda got for their spend I’d have to say that VW made the right choice (along with their LeMans success).

Man those figures are darn fast. But its been found many times that those calculators, to find the speed/acceleration of a vehicle are really inaccurate. They usually do find a much faster result then what the actual car may manage.

if its speculation then who cares. If true(i have my doubts) this will be THE performance benchmark for many many many years to come. Even if it doesnt come close to the predicted figures it will most likely be a nine second car....stock. OMFG!:

OMG !!!!............it takes longer to say 0-100Klm/h than it does to actually achieve it in this beast !

How the hell are they gonna surpass this monster with the next model ????

They're doing a stripped out race version too.
It's still under wraps but was briefly spotted in a Fifth gear episode a year or so ago

Just wondering though if your buying one of these as well as sending the mechanic out do they send a shrink out? because if the last one wasn't fast enough for you you've got SERIOUS issues!!

Also does this come under the i know i have to much money when i own a standard veyron and the annivery version which of course sheik's .............(insert names here) will. Maybe it will come with pure gold paint since your obviously having trouble spending all that money to help you along the way.

Maybe if everyone on the forums pooled their money together (and sold a few organs) we could maybe buy one of these bugattis for track days?

Reading that article makes me want one sooo dam bad.

As someone said, surely they can't make these supercars *physically* go any faster than this?!

Forget it, I don't want one.

Because the exhaust is in the middle I will not be able to put a tow bar to tow the boat.

Guess I might just buy one for fun....... hahaha
