I guess you'd whack it in a ski boat! Rediculous power! Why don't cars have that sort of grunt?

This is a marine race engine. Cars also have this much power and more for racing. |

but not with a 1 year warranty for racing! I would think you wouldnt get anything like that power with a warranty in any car from any reputable brand.

I'm picturing the Nizpro engine in a Ford HotRod
The extractors/exhaust/turbo setup could all come out the opening areas that we so often see used on rods. PS 900ft lbs of torque from 2500rpm!!!

Surely there is some way these engines can be adapted into a car? CAT600, give it a shot? Jeez what a motor

Good lord guys, it's manufactured by Mercury....... they make good throw away stuff.
Ford and Mercury collaboration... - not sure about that one! never heard of that. merc marine and Cummins now have an arrangement on the lower hp diesel stuff. At least the Cummins sourced engines would last, certainly longer than any Mercruiser leg.. Those big block engines will be like any other Mercury clip on engine - In other words, rebuilds every 100 hours, and throw it in the bin at 500

In the late 70's i'm led to believe the Cleveland pillow block was originally developed for marine use but didn't pass... so they stayed with the chevs... Must say their ski boat range is ultra reliable, ive had a few mercruisers in ski boats and they never missed a beat.
