Title is self explantory and there are a few sites alleging this. Here is a link to one https://gearpatrol.com/2018/10/29/fo...ng-sedan-rumor
Would almost be like getting the falcon back if it happened. |

Rumours of 4 door mustangs have been around since the 60s - they also played around with different styles of coupes and station wagons. Just had a look on Google and found this link:
http://www.nydailynews.com/autos/wil...lide=1.1538963 It makes you wait about every 4 photos but some are pretty interesting

What would be a winning move for Ford, if they ever brought out a sister car to the Mustang but in an SUV rather than large sedan.
SUV 4 door GT V8... That would be a sales winner! Similar to what Porsche did with the Cayenne. |

THe original mustang was a 2 door body on falcon undepinnings. Basically mustang was a 2 door falcon
so what should you call a 4 door mustang? |

Not sure I would like to see the Mustang badge stuck on anything bar a 2 door coupe though.

you'd never get in the back door. The roof line is far too low

Why though? Give me a 2 door coupe or a 4 door sedan. I hate these Euro 4 door coupes.
It's like when they released the BMW 6 series 4 door. It's the 4 door version of a 2 door version of a 4 door car. |

Whilst, personally, I think the concept of a 4door Mustang undermines the Mustang "brand"... I would buy that (pictured in the link above) before I bought the new Commondore !
A similar look to Mustang, on a 4door Sedan has been done before... with the 71/72 Muzza & XB Falcon (My favorite Falcon )... so drawing some inspiration from the latest/next Mustang for a Sedan/SUV variant might not end up too bad... or undermine the brand !?? D

Probably more likely to be the Mach 1 electric SUV that has Mustang styling, rather than a 4 door Mustang.
The Mach 1 (which I think they have said won't be called that) looks nearly identical to Mustang front and rear. And it would have to be a 4 door, being an SUV. |

I'd be happy with a 4 seat Mustang.
As opposed to the amputee only rear seat we have now.

If we still had the falcon here if say blah Nooo! But given theres no Dodge charger yet, and pretty much the only new RWD performance sedan is a Kia, then I say why not.

Hilarious, all the blah blah blah about sticking the Commodore name on a Opalpug and now we have calls for doing similar to a so called 4 door Mustang.
If (and that's a big if) they do build one then call it what it is, a 4 door Mustang, please don't go slapping the Falcon name on it to placate a few Falcon tragics. The Falc is dead, let it rest in peace........

It would be a welcome addition, if they did it in the Euro or Japanese (Lexus GS-F) sports sedan kind of way.
But would there be a market for it it? Seeing as America is totally truck and SUV bonkers these days. |

Please leave the Mustang alone, it is what it is, a 2 door grand tourer.
As it is the flood of new Mustangs seems to be devaluing the older classic ones. Why do car manufacturers want to make sedans out of sports cars and sports cars out of 4 door utes.

Way to jump to conclusions. And even it it did eventuate and was called Falcon, it's nothing like what Holden have done. It would be a large 4 door, Ecoboost 4 or V8 powered RWD sedan, not a medium FWD/AWD V6 hatchback pussbox like the ZB Commodore. Which shares no common make up with the VF. |

What a way to wreck a nameplate.
A 2+2 with a usable backseat like the monaro could be doable though.

I have a little snigger when I read stories like these ..
In 1968 AMC built a their Mustang competitor, the Javelin. Basically a 2-door, 4-seater (technically would seat five as was slightly bigger than an early Mustang). Alongside this, they also built the AMX, which was a Javelin with a foot cut out of the wheelbase and a 2-seater only; no backseat. AMC got complaints from customers about wanting a 4-seat AMX .............. what the? In 1971 AMC released the second generation Javelin, and discontinued the 2-seater AMX; the AMX became a option package only. Be careful what you wish for with a 4-door Mustang.
