What a beast, wish someone would do an oldskool car with the Godzilla but also the new 10sp auto behind it.

Yes came across it myself a couple of days ago on the tube.

VERY impressive donk considering it was originally designed for the F series Trucks!

You said it...can't get bored watching it..
Thinking out aloud,...If I wanted to replace the Territory with any new rear wheel drive biased SUV I would need at least $40+ on top of the trade in they might offer if I was lucky...and using the better half's comments on coming home after a shop..."look babe, I saved $30K after throwing Godzilla into our Tezza..."

I just wish they were more readily available here. Only real choice is a bloody expensive crate motor. Getting one out of a wrecked super duty really isn't an option down under.

I thought they were about $10k which isnt that bad. God I would love that in the ZF instead of rebuilding the thing...trans and diff wont be happy though.

I think the $30,000 in the video is for the Supercharged version.

A stock version in the ZF with the 10sp Auto would make an awesome cruiser.

14k I think. Add a 10 sp on top of that and it suddenly doesn't look cheap anymore. Then there's all the ancillaries it doesn't come with.

30k to get one in a Falcon and up and running?

It will bolt up to the 4R80 and 6R80 too.

Very nice engine, just a shame ford didn't do these earlier and shoved them in everything so we could have had our own version of the LS

Man I hope we see more of these retro fits into earlier Fords, the 7.3 is just so impressive in older vehicles but also perhaps, a Territory? I know it looks expensive but the 7.3 is one of those Ford engines that enthusiasts have been craving for ages in the US. This engine is barely bigger than a GM LS but offers a good capacity increase with the strength to take a supercharger.

Does a Territory have the same size engine bay as a Falcon? Because this 7.3L engine isn't as wide as the 5.4L 4V, being OHV means it's much smaller, one also assumes it's no way near as tall as a Barra either. SZ Territory has the 6R80 as well so that should mate up to Godzilla.

Who remembers when forum sponsor FTG did a 5.4L 4V Territory.

Wonder if it'll fit in Ranger?

the 7.3 is 2”/50mm wider than a 351W and 4.5” /114mm narrower than a Coyote V8,
so yes, this bad boy will fit in a lot of places and as I said above, the XA’s bonnet looks to be in tact…

And if a Coyote fits in a Ranger (just), you can bet this beast will go in much easier.

Brian Wolfe was Ford Program Director on the 7.3 Godzilla project, he’s also a racer with a lot of 351 Windsor experience, it’s obvious that he developed this engine with two purposes, a truck engine and a performance engine hiding in plain sight.

We are on the same page....mine is an AWD diesel SZII though, I think FTG used a RWD petrol as base.

The Territory engine box is pretty much the same as Falcon.

The Steering shaft position and Exhaust has always been the issue with the Territory
The only V8 one I know of was was a Falcon Chassis with Territory Body, which I don't think was road legal

perhaps this can be overcome with Turbos, take a look at the Miami XW in the build section and see what modifications are involved

FTG Auto Salvage who used to be a sponsor here on AFF did a 5.4L 4V into a Territory and got it engineered as well, there was a thread on here about it back in the day, not sure if its still around.

That Territory ended up with Falcon crossmembers, suspension and (rear mount) steering rack to accept the 5.4l and I still don’t know how it got rego with E-series offset wheels which were used to restore the Territory track width.

More a re-bodied V8 Falcon than it was a V8 Territory IMHO.

People are saying that it’s a big block but it’s not really, the bore spacing
is 4.53” and the deck height 9.62” so barely bigger than a 351 Windsor.

I wonder how things would have gone if the Cleveland and M block
had been given that 4.53” bore spacing instead of 4.38”.
