I am not across the car scrap/recycle industry, so I am not sure whether this is the way it is going or whether we're still dumping cars in a yard with a bloke sitting in a portable directing you where to go with your cutting utensils.
Obviously not going to pick up unique and classic cars, or all that often but it's good to see as much as possible being re used.

I actually watched that video a few days back.
I think this is the future, although when that future will fully arrive is another question. Apart from the emphasis on removing all the fluids, and "de-polution," it's also worth noting that their treatment is dictated by the demand for the parts. So they inspect and strip only those parts that are in demand, and the rest goes into the mix. |

I'll take what you said one step further; They only strip those parts that are in demand and can make good money out them. Gone will be the days when you can go to the wreckers and find that 'hard to find' trim piece for $10. |

At least in my case, (Ford Traders) most of the stuff has been given a new lease of life in Indian and Pakistan as buses.
