Saw it on the news tonight - apparently journo Mark Arblaster (sp?) is going to organise an event along the lines of Summernats to be held in Wagga Wagga in October sometime. It got council approval tonight and will be held at the showgrounds here, so i'll keep everyone updated when i find out more about it.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
I went to a Street Machine Nationals in the very early 80's held at Wagga Wagga show ground before there was a SummerNats, which sort of replaced the Nationals.

yeah it should certainly be interesting to see what happens with the development of this, from what i gather the part they were worried about most was getting it past council but now that that has happened, i guess the next hurdle will be things like police and people living close to the showground etc, as it is in the middle of town.
The news report last night indicated that they were looking at having things like a burnout comp, dyno tents etc etc as well as your usual show and shine, so it sounds like it should be a good show, provided idiots dont ruin it.
