Cool P-plater driving interstate?

Hi guys,
it's just a quick question.
My wife (the P-plater) and I are going to Carins for vacation soon ( : )
and we're renting a car there and I was wondering if she needs to display QLD P-plates or we can just put her victorian green ones?

Qld dont have to show there P's but in its simplest form you must obey the rules in which you were licenced, its that simple, so if you need to display Victorian P's then you need to display them in Qld as well, You may find that the "missus" wont be allowed to drive a hire car on a probabtionary licence anyway.

you'll most likely find she will not be allowed to drive a rental car. Most rental companies have a 'no under-25's' rule, and the one i worked for didn't allow p-platers full stop. You'll have to ring them to confirm this. It's important, especially if an insurance situation occurs.

But my wife is 28, will there be a problem with that?

I've heard this before, but Hertz allowed me to rent a Falcon when I was up at the Gold Coast for work back in 06.

A few places up here in cairns let P-platers higher cars. But if you're up there with her, why don't you do the hiring and driving?

Anyway, have fun while you are up here! Been having great weather lately.

Cool

Thanks guys.
I taught her to drive after I got my full license.
I just wanted to know if she needs to display the plates as I want her to appreciate our BA more by getting her to drive Toyota Crappola.
Anyway I'm planning to do most of the driving but it would be nice if she could get me back to the resort once or twice.
I'll ask the Hertz people when I collect the car
as all I found on the reservation confirmation was
