Wow. Thats huge. It's amazing the size of the heavy equipment found at mining sites. Can't beleive how big some of them can get. Great snap.

Wondering how cars can overtake that truck. I guess if you see one, then your in for a slow drive

Generally they pull over in parking bays etc to let people by. Most I have seen pull over at each town to let traffic past.
Of course its legal, but most require a police escort.

The 'oversize' signs really states the obvious.

I could imagine there would be some stupid drivers who would try to overtake even though it extends over the complete road width plus some more.

I often see these on the Newell Hwy, they usually move one 6 or 8 metre wide load every 3 weeks or so from Qld to the Southern states.

Four pilot cars and two police cars. The 1st pilot is usually 2km in front of the load, to give us time to find somewhere to get off the road. The 2nd pilot is about 1km in front then the first HP car about 1/2k behind him, the 3rd and 4th pilots are behind the load to stop motorists getting excited and trying to overtake. Thats why the pilot at the rear is also on the wrong side of the road

Both HP cars are on the wrong side of the road in case cars (that dont have UHF radios) dont get the hint.

It does get interesting when it rains and the shoulder is soft. B-Doubles tend to sink quite fast.

The blurry things in the pics?... Bugs on the windscreen

Looking at some of those massive dump tucks on that site, its pretty funny how they have standard WA registration plates stuck on something so massive.
