Angry Sickining feeling

Last nite me and the missus was at a mates house having a BBQ and a couple of coldies. I got up and asked the missus if she wanted to join me out the side of the house for a smoke so we got up and headed out the side of the house away from the kids to have a smoke, a couple of mates come out to have a chat. I just lit my smoke and looked up to admire my car all washed and shiny, glistining in the moonlight and my mates GT-P parked behind it when all of a sudden a car started backing out of of the house over the road. the car just kept backing up and backing up rite across the street which is a wide street and then bang i watched her shunt my car : she hit it hard then just wacked her car into gear and drove off. I was frozen i couldnt believe what I was seeing. I got her number plate so i could call the cops even know i just wanted to chase her down myself but realised that would be dumb and opted not to. I saw someone over at the house she was at and went over and had a chat and told her what happind. they called her and made her come back, I got her details and its off to the insurance company for me now : I coouldnt believe it. but im most likely to get a new front bar out of it wich i dont mind come to think of it : but what a thing to watch happin to your pride and joy

Thats sucks, i had a similar thing happen to my car when it was parked out the front of my gf'c house. Wen't to drive home in the morning and some bloke had reversed into the front right 1/4 panel and drivers door and left no details. I later found out it was a cabbie. Didn't i give him an earful. After going through insurance to get it fixed i then had to wait 3 months to get my excess back.

There are some real scum out there!!!!!!!

What was her attitude about it. I hope there are no issues getting it sorted out. If anything, be glad you actually saw it happen so you could catch the offender. Thats gotta hurt but. Really hurt.

I must say your handling this very well, if you had not been there having a smoke this *** would have got away with it.

See, a positive for not to give up the smokes..

She would have noticed it all right, dont worry about that.... she just thought that no one saw her and that would be the end of it.

Bet she was all innocent and forgiving about it when she came back.......

How can she hit someone like that and not notice it? That is a crime - leaving the scene of an accident.

That is a sickening thing to see, for sure! Helpnessess is the word that springs to mind. I hope you get it sorted mate.

Recently had a sickening feeling as well.... partner was in a big car v pole accident and wrote off the XR8. Seeing it as a wreck in the wreckers yard with all the other burnt out and rusted wrecks was quite sickening and very sad.

I had the same thing happen to me, although I didnt see it happen. The local Home Icecream delivery guy saw it and told me about it. It was the neighbours elderly father that did it and I didnt have any dramas getting it fixed....... I was just lucky someone witnessed it because his attitude was disgraceful about it, as if it wasnt his fault.

Probably because she knows you would give her a stern talking too or worse.

It's a horrible feeling alright. When I had the fort, I had just had it washed and detailed and drive home, to find a telstra guy out of his van trying to open our gates
I park behind the van, get out to talk to him and he doesn't see me, gets back in his van and backs out at a quick pace. BANG!

Takes out left front light and slightly damages the front bar (whole left corner looking rather second hand)
****er said he didn't know I was there.

Sometimes some of us make little errors of judgement and kiss a car's panel, mostly in tight car parks but I'm sorry to say that there are far too many useless drivers out there and just as many guys as women.

Time to make it harder for people to get their license. Seems too easy from all that I have seen.

Seriously, good you caught them in the act. There's nothing worse than someone doing that and just driving away, especially if they know they did it.

Had a young guy back into one of our cars when it was parked on the street at night. It set the alarm off, so I looked out the window just in time to see him turn his lights off and drive off. Recognised the car as belonging to a friend of a neighbour so got them to ring him up and tell him the cops would be called if he didn't return...he did, with a car full of mates.

He sort of said sorry; then after weeks of me calling to give him the repair quotes, I got fed up and just went through insurance. Only a minor repair but would have cost him about 400 more than if he'd just paid up.

This nearly just happened to me at the shops, walked back to the car and a lady was reversing her Landscrewer behind my car using her rear veiw mirror only to see (as IF) and I could see as I got closer to my car she was waiting for the bump/thud to give her an idea when to stop, she only looked out her other mirrors when she saw me walk next to my car and I Had to guide her back.
Her towbar was ready to drill my tail gate.I spose thats why my car is the shopping car and the wifes sit in the garage.

I hope your gets sorted soon mate ,all the best for the new year.

its horrible feeling having to just sit there and wait for the bang thinking ...ohhh sh#t .

happened to me last christmas eve at a servo, waiting in line to fill up and the guy in front decides to back up for ???? whatever reason, ( i had been behind him for a few minutes and the car in front of him was just leaving ) . had my hand on the horn and watched as he kept coming about 3 metres till he hit the BA. never looked in his mirrors at all. then he wanted to know what i was doing parked behind him. fool.

same thing the very day i picked up my XR8. a guy was in the right lane, with 4 people in the back and they had music right up, he kept drifting into my lane, closer and closer until our mirrors touched, then i hit the horn, and it scared the shizzit out of him, he hit the accelerator and impaled his radiator on a prados towbar,
i found out later they were all smoking joints in the car....at 8am!!

Sickening feeling alright.

When I was parked at work, an old boy came out of the pub, drove through the car park, right into the passengers corner of my ute and pushed it across the street about 5 meters. Saw it happen but didn't realize it was my car until it had stopped.

Thank god you saw it was her and it's all getting sorted.

Last year I had some old fool decide to reverse into the front of my work van in the middle of Civic. This was despite him taking 6, yes 6, attempts at parralel parking into the loading, illegally and me flashing my lights at him and leaning on the horn. Then the old fart has a go at me. In the end I let the company and Lumley insurance sort it out, the police also booked him. We actually couldn't see where the damage was on the van, what do you expect for a courier van?

Why'd he drive into a pole?

As in power pole (tall) or was it short-length, such as used in shopping centres, or a bollard?

The same thing happened to me, except i was the one who reversed into a car. It was late at nite, the car i hit was dark purple and the area i was in had no street lights. I had only had my license 2 weeks, and just jumped into my car (1985 nissan patrol),reversed out of the drive way and didnt swing the wheel far enough.

I was very unhappy, as the car i hit was a WB holden one tonner, and i reversed into a hard to find statesman front.

I could never just drive away, i went to check if the guy was home, and he wasn't. So i left a note.

Lucky he was a preety cool guy, and he had a spare front, so i gave hime some money to have it painted. I got out of it good

I was pulling out of a mate's driveway recently and as im reversing out I had to stop and give way to a car and bike rider that was coming, so as im waiting I look back to see my mate in her VH about to reverse straight into me, before i got my hands on the horn it was too late...luckly no damage apart from a small ripple in the paint on my front bar so im not that fussed...But we both felt that wack and there wasnt barely a mark on either cars so theres no way that chick didn't notice unless she has a mental problem in which case she shouldn't of been driving.
