Default Road safety report in 'Wheels' magazine.

So in the August edition of 'wheels' there is a 10 page report on road safety. It is an interesting read and I recommend it.

Now don't jump to the conclusion that because it's a motoring magaizne they are saying we should be free to drive as quick as we want all the time. That's far from the truth.

They do talk about how many current cameras are set up for purely revenue raising, but they also discuss other things that could be put in places to cut the road toll. They also use examples of how it has worked overseas.

It's not just a bunch of journalists complaining. It is also the opinions of a couple of politicians, the head of safety at Mercedes, a highway patrol officer, a lawyer and a road engineer.
All these people are saying that the current war on speed pretty much alone is way off and is not helping the road toll at all.

So have a read before you write it off as a campaign to let everyone drive like maniacs.
