Hi all, I've recently acquired a nearly rust free XB Fairmont coupe. It's not been registered for well over 15 years, and unfortunately the VIN & Engine Number is not on the VicRoads database (nor on any other state database). Before I start pouring money into the thing, I need to find out how I go about registering it without being able to provide a prior rego number for VicRoads to trace. Has anyone gone about doing this before? The previous owner is no help - he bought it unregistered and has no details to give me. I rang the original Ford dealer who sold the car in 1974, and they don't know where their archives are. Ford themselves don't have the rego number on record for cars that old. So, as you can see - I'm in a bit of a pickle. Any help you can offer would be very much appreciated. Cheers. |
