the worst thing about the whole show is that it will go mainstream and hit the commercial channels. SBS will show the series and sell them off like they always do. then we can put up with ads and probably have things cut out of the show. anyway there never has and probably will be another show like this. Legends! |

And they showed the strength of a std Ford rear axle. Tieing the bi*ch to a pole and flooring it, just kept snapping cables or pulling the car up.

Masonry walls, engine blocks, 1/2" steel plate etc pose no problem for those weapons - they just plow on through. A 180 grain projectile moving at 3400 feet per second has a lot of energy to dissipate. They stopped using them in the military because when you get shot with one, you DIE - turns out it is better to just wound the enemy a bit, so it takes two or three of their mates to look after them... |

if it takes Myth Busters to get their ratings up then as far as im concerned they can crash and burn. if they cant get their own audience then thats their problem. |

Apparently, due to the popularity of Mythbusters, channel 7 has bought the rights to season 3 (hence why they showed the Jaws special)

The episoide with the 87 silver Corvette with 2 dead pigs sealed in it for 3 months & trying to get the small out blew me away. Why a Vette & not a Jap import. Shocking for Vette lovers. :

1. The JATO/RATO episode, they used a '66 Impala coupe ... I think the original myth was a '66 or '67 (I used to own a '68 Impala SS coupe .. nice car!) 2. The Vette one .. I can't remember properly, but I *THINK* it also involved someone suiciding in a Vette and it being cleaned up and sold ("much wanted" car .. this wouldn't work with a "unwanted" Jap car) 3. The pole-vaulting Fury one .. involved a Fury in the myth! 4. The Ford cop car one .. the one they "stuffed up" by concentrating on buying a police car, and not on the type of car from the "myth" in American Graffiti .. a '61-'63 Galaxie (which year exactly?). In the Fury one, Adam stated that they were definately getting a Fury 'cos they'd got flak over using a "new" car in the cop car episode. They could substitute for other cars, but it wouldn't be "right". Hey, I'm a Fury lover and I wasn't upset seeing that '67 wrecked .. it's a mass produced car .. just like a Vette, just like a Ford Crown Vic, just like a '66 Impala .. Rod |

Love mythbusters
I however almost cried when they destroyed that 'vette & now the Fury. I cant understand why people would be angry about destroying a Crown Vic, sure their a nice car but there is no way a shortage of them. I laughed my head off though when they destroyed the cement mixer with about 1 ton of Explosive: big badda boom
