A few months ago I managed to misjudge the distance between the gutter and my car when parking and scraped my left front rim.
Rather than buy a new rim I was considering using one of those rim repairers that seem to be popping up a lot lately. I was wanting feedback from members that have used their services and whether you were happy with the result. Cheers Pete

As I'm in Qld I can't advise you on repairers down there, but I used one here after hitting a rock at night and the repair was indistinguishable from new. Cost $165.

i had a brandnew hr raceing wheel damaged when i had the wheel standing up(silly me), it looked like it was going to stay there while i was loading another wheel into the boot, sure enough, the minute i turned my head it fell on its face and sort of rotated and bounced on the course concrete like a 20 cent piece doing heaps of damage to the protruding shadow chromed spokes, i took it to a wheel repairer the other side of melbourne , and i must say they did an excellent job, it cost me $250.00 which may sound a lot but apparently shadow chrome is a pain in the kyber to do (3 day process), i would have these blokes do work for me again (wheel works 19 park drive dandenong iirc).

There's a decent in the Tyre Technical section.
With reviews from people ... with addresses and contact. Have heard good things from Virgin Wheel Repairs in Valediction Rd, Seven Hills.

Depends on the finish of the rims too. some are harder to do then others.
I have used them before up here in QLD and they seem to do a good job. expect to wait a while with some of them tho, my mate just had one done on his GTS 8 weeks!!

Sorry about the delay getting back to you. The repairer I used is http://www.depuluwheels.com/index.html. My rim had a "diamond cut" finish and you couldn't tell the difference from the repaired wheel and the other three. The service was great as well ... no need to strip the tyre off the rim, they do it all and even rebalance it when it's finished. |

Yes, I thought they really suited the BF F6. Here's a full view of what they looked like And what they looked like when the car was written off. I didn't ask if this one could be repaired. LOL |

I went to Morton and May ... and the guy there didn't really seem interested.
Have heard from others they have had hit and miss results from them as well.

Quoted 150 to fix gutter rash :/
Thinking it might work out a tad cheaper in the long run if I get them powder coated black at $50 a piece. Thoughts?
