Default SZ Diesel Territory - Carsguide 4.0 from 5.0

Ford Territory TX, TS and Titanium

Local Launch
Batemans Bay, NSW

What we liked
>> Everything, absolutely everything...
>> And the serenity primarily...
>> Combined with Territory's vehicle dynamics

Not so much
>> Any more power for diesel V6?
>> Styling is not as far-reaching behind the A pillars
>> Lack of head protection for little tackers in the back

Overall rating: 4.0/5.0
Engine/Drivetrain/Chassis: 4.5/5.0
Price, Packaging and Practicality: 4.0/5.0
Safety: 4.0/5.0
Behind the wheel: 3.5/5.0
X-factor: 4.5/5.0

Conclusion:

What was utterly apparent from this drive program is that Ford is backing another winner with the introduction of the SZ Territory. It's a car that fits snugly into the company's critically praised product lineup and deserves to be on the shopping list of any family looking for a properly resolved blend of comfort, safety and dynamic ability.

If they liked "everything, absolutely everything", then how they have things they don't like?

Either way, I hope this result sees people head out and support a real Australian Product.

IMO Ford should be really trumpeting the fact that this is the only Australian developed and built SUV available.

ya see thats a real unbiased and fair promotion of a new qaulity car. They actually focus on the good stuff instead of the one big negative which is a coman one anyway(diesel options cost more)

I'm sure they will. Get people in the showrooms. I wasn't really impressed till I started seeing them in the flesh.

New Terri should get people through the door, after that its the dealers that will need to step up.

Well, going by the amount of SZ Terri's sitting in the paddocks at Ford Broadmeadows, someone in marketing is banking on BIG sales of the new truck.

Stock build up before they ship to dealers..

They want all dealers to get a decent number of them up front...

I just wish the screen in the tx didn't look so povo. I don't want to be pressured into looking at a ts just because of the screen difference.

The Territory by most reports seem to be boasting a huge improvemnt on what was already a great and successful and package. Yes i agree that I would have to weigh up the options of buying a diesel based on what some are saying but would make these decisions based on what I want out of an Australian designed and built car ........ and NOT on the perceived attitude of the Ford sales team which in the end would have NO bearing on what I drive everyday.

I agree, I just wish they used the colour screen that is currently in the FG.

Really Dave ?
So the salesmans lack of communication or genuinity to sell you a car on YOUR terms wouldn't sway you towards another manufacturer no matter how good the product was you ACTUALLY wanted to buy with your heart ?

Getting off topic and suppose it was my fault but would hate to see this new car loose any sales because of perceptions .....

If anyone wants the Terri or an i35 or whatever, most would visit a few dealers to get the best deal possible. Worse case scenario, you get the car at retail which if that is within budget and is what you want ..... everyones happy.

Yes there are bad dealers ... I have met a couple but the great thing is ..... within a 40k radius from my place I would have 8 dealers minimum. When I buy a car I have already decided that is what I want ...... a bad dealer will only make me go elsewhere .... not change the car I want.
