RIP Paul R. Annunziata May 19, 1949-September 28, 2011 http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoram...220845658.html We all know how much Jay Leno loves cars. He is a gentleman and a man with class. A friend sent me this link and as I watched the link I was touched by Mr. Annunziata's love for his 1975 Duster. You can hear it in his voice. When this episode was filmed, "Duster" only had 517 miles on the odometer. Jay jokes that he put on about a couple hundred and the miles Mr. Annunziata put on were probably done 1/4 mile at a time. Can you even imagine that.....517 miles on a 75? At 09:00 into the video, you can see Mr. Annunziata take his final turn behind the wheel as he drives "Duster" into the moving van. It was a touching moment to me and I cried. Must have been sad for him too, but happy to know that "Duster" would be well loved and taken care of. All Mr. Annunziata wanted was Jay's word that he would never sell "Duster." Hope you like this video.... |

Yes, at least Jay wouldn't strip it out or modify it further...something that important and rare (in condition, not build numbers) needs to be in the hands of someone who has the time and money to just put it in a collection so everyone can enjoy it in the future.

Mr. Annunziata could have given it to someone else but depending on life and finances, things change and Duster might have ended up as a "have to sell for cash." He gave the car to Jay because Jay has the means for upkeep and he knew Jay would take care of Duster like he would have. I agree with everyone, this is one sweet ride! |

That's funny! Maybe I should have titled it "Jay Leno and the story behind his 1975 Duster"
