I work in an industry where video footage is paramount to charging criminals and protecting a company. If any of the footage is compromised, then basically it's useless... In regards to charging the idiot for an offence, I reckon he'll get off scott free or if he admits to it, a small slap on the wrist. I base this on the driver not being seen or stating his name, or displaying his face with an ID badge, which is what's needed to identify him as the offender. The video quality especially regarding the speedo, so you can't say exactly how fast he was going, even though he states 255km/h. This is all based on that we see the whole video.
I hope the idiot gets in trouble, but to use this video in court, will not stand a chance. Even if his got a cheap lawyer.
If I was him he just needs to say a few words, "it wasn't me", and he'll walk free...
Unfortunately it's the world we live in

I'd say around 250kph
Using that link you provided I got him doing 159.5 MPH or about 255km/h. I think you may have put the wrong value in the loaded tyre radius section. I used 12.5" for that value

What figures did you use? I worked it out as 157 mph based on a 12.5 inch tyre radius (225/50/16 is about 630mm diameter).

It is unlikely you were doing any more than about 200-220km/h. It take a HUGE amount of power to push a falcon through the air at high speed and the E series were not real aeordynamic.

I remember when the T3 came out MOTOR took one for a run to Darwin and could not get over 240km/h despite many attempts. The AU was much slipperier than E series and was about a powereful and you could get using a windsor.

It is pointless trying to calculate from tachos and ratios as everything is "sort of" accurate including your speedo.

GPS is king.

Facebook has done nothing but cause problems in society since it began. I have lost count of the number of cases of bullying, suicides, murders, stalking, privacy breaches, addiction disorders, personality disorders etc which can all be attributed to facebook. I fear for the future of society when I see the way that children's minds are being poisoned with this rubbish.
The day that facebook is obliterated form the face of the earth will be a great day for society.

It is and it is something that I seriously doubt I would do again in a B series falcon. The aero is just a bit too twitchy. On the other hand my datto was happy and stable at even higher speeds.

But the speed in the original post was only part of the problem, the place it was done was the major concern.

the sprint does a lazy 200km in 4th around 5500(5 speed manual)3.27

I believe 6000rpm in 6th would be around 260-270kmh.

My fairly std sprint easily went to 6500 if pushed.

aren't they electronically limited to 250?

i wonder if a tune removes that limitation like it does the factory rpm limit?

wheel/tyre height x 3.142(pie)

convert to inches(eg. 23"x3.142)=72.266(rolling diameter in inches)

Divide by diff ratio

=

Mph per 1000 revs
eg. 23" x3.142 /
3.54(diff ratio)= 20.41412mph per 1000 revs

Times 1.66 to convert into metric Kmh

(this is old school dragster measuring but only works in imperial(not metric)

there is no lie or speedo error with mathematics!

you can calculate each gear ratio too but im not explaining this

I was in Murray Bridge last saturday afternoon and saw that Rspec parked down by the river at Sturt reserve. I did a couple of laps past it having a good look at it and next thing i know i have the bloke following me around town wanting to race..... I politely told him to **** off and lets do it at the track...

Seems he couldnt wait to test the car by what hes now gone and done!

he must've been into it for a while,
mine seemed to hit an invisible wall when changing into 5th at approx 205, and the acceleration tappered off very noticably, although there was a gale force headwind at the time

only the big drag slicks, but they do that for extra gearing effect as well as traction..

normal road tyres/circuit tyres should not have that grow effect.

They are limited to 230, so unless you had the limiter removed I call BS.

The guy can't be totally stupid? He DID make a pretty good choice to buy an Rspec afterall.
At the end of the day, most of us have done it.. I have, both in my Pursuit and my Typhoon.. And years ago in many vehicles far less safe. And if I had a spanky new Rspec, I'd sure be tempted to see what it'd do too! This dills mistake was to 1/. Video it AND plaster it on the net. And 2/. Do it on a road that looks far from safe at 150+mph.

It would be rev limited to 6200 rpm like all E series Windsors were, so I can't see how it would go to 6500 unless the tacho was out.

And despite being geared to pull those speeds it wouldn't even get close to them because they would hit an aero brick wall, and wouldn't have enough grunt to go further. Even the EL GT could only manage around 230.
