It's a beautiful thing isn't it?

The bus is a work in progress, been living in it for 8 years.
Bought it as a motorhome with a nice fit out, but a lot of work needed bodywise and elsewhere.
We have done quite a few mods to it as well.
If your interested the story is here https://www.facebook.com/dstinationunknown/

Fair warning, it's quite long and will take a bit of scrolling to get to the beginning.

Cheers,

Some great colours out there and already mentioned.
B-series and early Territory models had a great range of colours for modern vehicles.

Another mention is Velvet in the FG range. That was classy and not often seen.

This is one of the rarer colours during the BF MK II run. Bonus points if you can name it.

This colour is called Wired. I remember reading a post on here many years ago about how the production line workers did in fact call it baby shyte brown.

That really is an odd one ..Can honestly say I've never seen one that colour . looks like some shade of orange to me but wouldn't know where to start for it's official name that's for sure .

Without literally counting every line . It worked out to be 23 sets of colour names and codes per 157mm...There were 60 sets of 23 give or take a slight overlap and a couple left over , and no doubt some that got missed there are approximately 1380 Ford colours not counting the GT colours .

Told you all I was bored . or stupid or both...

I also might have thought my Telstar was called Emperor but now I'm not sure ., something is telling me that this old girl was actually Regency Red .

Mercury Silver was the pic of the dark silvers in B-series. Until EGO came along later that followed through in to FG.

Memorable note was Meteorite in AU. Was such a classy charcoal on the XR shapes.

The xr6turbo forums have a great colour thread (mainly b series on I guess)
https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/36239-colours/

My ea was I thought champagne beige but it's something else along that bronzey tan metallic (I've forgot now)
the eb was emerald green, the EL was sapphire red, and unfortunately the BA was shockwave.

I really miss colours on the road, ford had some of the best. The last holden I had was a VZ in that olive drab greenish ****. E: martini mica , yuck.

But BMWs had some nice blues and greens in the past, Mazda had some nice ones too. It's too bad most people are going toyota or Korean because they have no clue when it comes to colours.
It's sad that nearly everything is silver, grey, black or white now from most euros, most of what we see on the road is boring these days and that's one thing most people never thought of when ford stopped making falcons here.

So just when you thought we had something unique, and granted FoA was not near the first company to officially do it I found this;

Why do you think the Ford Australia show cars of the era used those flip paints?

EL XR Sequential etc.

I like that BluePrint colour too. Stands out.

But Black is still my go to colour for almost any car unless something really grabs me (plus wheel colour can impact choice etc)

Actually went for a drive an hour ago and there was a BA XR Ute on road (going way too fast......i was doing 115 and went past like I was standing still - 160plus).

Then at lights we caught up and had Plazmaman stickers etc so a tuned T Barra. Young bloke and girl in it.

Was a Bright Lime Green colour with white alloys.

Too out there for me and not sure if a Ford standard colour but it stood out (in a good or bad way depending on your taste)
