I'm organising quite a few of my mates to go. My brother inlaw's mates will most likely come along. Some have quick cars and may race. I'm contemplating fitting up a temp fuel system so I can have a bit of fun too.

I've also spoke with the blokes who work (own?) the servo next door to Cranbourne South Primary about it. They are thinking about it ;) They also own a few quick cars.

I have just spoken to the owner of the airport.
This event is NOT ON.
There has been a mis-understanding somewhere.
Please do not turn up at the airport on Sunday.
I will put further information as it comes to hand
Thanks

Default Update

There was an article on this in today's Herald Sun, the owner of Tooradin airport is applying for permission to run drags and also a motorcycle track, the local police are keen to see it happen too. Looks like this may come to something after all.

Would be nice to see this come through, the more "Off Road" activities they can give people the less excuses they have.

The article says a strip 1 kilometre long so it will be only 1/8th mile. Nothing wrong with that the last half your only steering anyway and it makes for closer racing

Default Drags

I have been talking to rick langoor about drags at sandown. he met with council and this is what they said about having street drags at sandown Council and local police have these concerns 1. HANDLING OF FLAMMABLE/EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS 2.ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION. 3.CROWD CONTROL. 4 SAFETY BARRIERS . 5 PERCEIVED LACK OF DRIVER SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS 6.PERCEIVED LACK OF RISK ASSESSMENT AND RELATED MANAGEMENT PLANNING. with regards to community amenity there concerns is 1. NOISE 2 FUMES FROM BURNING FUELS AND TYERS.and last SPIN OFF ILLEGAL DRIVING ACTIVITY OCCURRING IN SURROUNDING STREETS and they say sinse calder has drag that calder has more hoons on the road so there you go . but rick is not going to give up he will fight them to the end . His starting up a off street drag club up through [ CAMS] Confederation of australian motorsport there back him up helping with him to run it. JUST saying his trying had to get us a drag strip anyone can help him or give him ideas or want to help with the club please let me know thanks GOLDBERG
