Anyone remember the movie "Freedom"?
Filmed in Adelaide, starring a silver 911 Turbo, early Scott Hicks film. Lame movie, but I wanted a porsche so bad after that, I think I was about 10 at the time. Looks like it has been re-released, might have to chase it down http://www.memorabletv.com/reviews/freedom.html |

I watched In The Red a couple of nights ago - gawwwd that was a bad Aussie movie. Well it was alright but it was so D-grade. The driving was kinda cool but there wasn't much of it. Lots of burnouts though

Running on Empty, the best aussie car movie (pre Mad Max 1, the rest were yank crud) and Wraith, the second was a C grade I think back in the late 80's early 90's, featured a Chrysler/Dodge concept car, wasn't much for dialogue and the plot was pretty bleh but all in all it was good for what it was, no doubt very low budget, you could tell by the tiny bikinis the girls were forced to wear due to budget cuts
As for the quote how about, "ye well you tell Mick I got mi flares and I'm ready to race anytime" Actually I might just find the DVD and watch it now, seeya

How about the 1976 short film C'était un rendez-vous?
Some band has it as their clip and you see it occassionally on Rage. The film shows an eight-minute drive through Paris in the early hours of the morning (05:30hrs), accompanied by sounds of a high-reving engine, gear changes and squealing tires. It starts in a tunnel of the Paris Périphérique at Porte Dauphine, with an onboard view from an unseen car exiting up on a ramp to Avenue Foch. Well-known landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, Opéra Garnier, and Place de la Concorde with its obelisk are passed, as well as the Champs-Élysées. Pedestrians are passed, pigeons sitting on the streets are scattered, red lights are ignored, one-way streets are driven up the wrong way, center lines are crossed, the car drives on the sidewalk to avoid a garbage truck. The car is never seen as the camera seems to be attached below the front bumper (judging from the relative positions of other cars, the visible headlight beam and the final shot when the car is parked in front of a curb on Montmartre, with the famous Cathedral Sacré Cœur behind, and out of shot). Here, the driver gets out and embraces a young blonde woman as bells ring in the background, with the famous backdrop of Paris. [edit]: In 2007 part of the movie was used for Snow Patrol's Open Your Eyes music video.

That was a short film done by a producer of some other movie which he had left over film so he decided to do a run through paris in his ferrari. It was the very first time this was done and inspired such vids as the Getaway in Stockholm series which then inspired the Ghostrider series.

Not so much a favourite car movie, but a memorable moment when Harrison Ford turns up wearing a menancing '55 Chev.
