The last of them had injection which helped it some what, but it still struggled to make decent power, even with a heap of mods. The cleveland head design is far better. The BOSS engines are a far better engine for its designed purpose, and IMO provides an excellent result, all it needs to do is loose a bit of weight.

The reality is the engine's performance is very good regardless of bore or stroke.

People have accused the Mod Boss motor of being too peaky and suffering down low which goes totally against the traditional view of long stroke motors, however i believe from results people gain with mods that this "perception" is more a case of the computer tune restricting torque than a short coming of the engine...

4Vman, i gotta hand it to you. you're quite possibly the most narrow minded person on this forum.
in peak form (not counting phases) both motors... 4V 351w made 290hp stock 4V 351c made 300bhp stock (with a holley over the autolite 4300) you can argue all you like, but theres ****all difference between them. why do you want to paint things in black and white? i thought this was about chosing your favourite motor not bagging windsors. Im not going to sit here and try and bag clevelands because I own one! lighten up dude. |

The 351W was a pretty ordinary motor when punted quickly, it had allot of inherrent design issues which were solved when the cleveland was made. Clevelands have issues too, so its not all rosy in cleveland town! I'll just never accept a 351W is a better motor than a 351C or even 302W.

IDGAF which 8 I have under the bonnet or which wins the poll !
As far as I'm concerned there's no better feel or sound. As long as it's reliable and gives me the enjoyment behind the wheel and importantly a FORD !
