Well, I do genuinely feel its a better motor then the other two, and infact felt that it should have been further developed and kept in production instead of moving to the modular line of engines which are... not so great.

Cant agree mate, the wheezor ran out of development potential in 1969, the head layout is just too restrictive to make do as a modern engine, it lasted because it was cheap and simple to make and made "acceptable" power.
The last of them had injection which helped it some what, but it still struggled to make decent power, even with a heap of mods.
The cleveland head design is far better.
The BOSS engines are a far better engine for its designed purpose, and IMO provides an excellent result, all it needs to do is loose a bit of weight.

Exactly. A 4" bore 3.5" stroke mod motor would be quite interesting... as opposed to the current 5.4 with 3.551" bore and 4.165" stroke...

What makes you think it needs changing? don't fall into the trap of assuming it needs to be changed based on "traditional thinking".
The reality is the engine's performance is very good regardless of bore or stroke.

I'd like to see what an oversquare 351 ci mod engine would perform like is all.

True, it would be interesting to see however over square engines in the traditional sence need to rev more to make their HP (think motorbike), long stroke motors (think truck/diesel) are traditionally more torquey and wont rev as freely.
People have accused the Mod Boss motor of being too peaky and suffering down low which goes totally against the traditional view of long stroke motors, however i believe from results people gain with mods that this "perception" is more a case of the computer tune restricting torque than a short coming of the engine...

I voted for the windsor because i have one for starters and two i have never acually had much to do with a clevo or boss, i have seen them in action been told about etc etc. but all in all im not about to make judgement on something that i dont have all the facts on nor have ever experienced so i am sticking to what is the best motor in my experience.

4Vman, i gotta hand it to you. you're quite possibly the most narrow minded person on this forum.

in peak form (not counting phases) both motors...

4V 351w made 290hp stock
4V 351c made 300bhp stock (with a holley over the autolite 4300)

you can argue all you like, but theres ****all difference between them. why do you want to paint things in black and white? i thought this was about chosing your favourite motor not bagging windsors. Im not going to sit here and try and bag clevelands because I own one!

lighten up dude.

Relax : , nothing wrong with spirited or challenging discussion, there's more to a motor than advertised power figures, which is why ive tried to challenge people to think a bit deeper than just what the handbook says.
The 351W was a pretty ordinary motor when punted quickly, it had allot of inherrent design issues which were solved when the cleveland was made.
Clevelands have issues too, so its not all rosy in cleveland town!
I'll just never accept a 351W is a better motor than a 351C or even 302W.

IDGAF which 8 I have under the bonnet or which wins the poll !
As far as I'm concerned there's no better feel or sound. As long as it's reliable and gives me the enjoyment behind the wheel and importantly a FORD !

And the 351 Boss was advertised at 330 bhp, although many claim the real figure to be around 380 bhp.
