My guess is the sticker isn't on a volvo...rather, some other 5 pot volvo powered car.

well sooooooorrrrrrry i think it looks better because i dont think the blue of the ford looks good on the front its all chrome and silver and a blue bit in the middle same reason i dont like the turbo in red on the back in fact if i had my way (insert that misses does not agree) i would get rid of the two side G6E turbo badges AND the one off the boot and put a bulge on if they made a ford badge in silver id put it on the front and the back and the steering wheel but then its not the blue oval i hear everyone cry i dont like odd colors on the car, when there is say only one badge thats blue on the front and the whole front end is chrome and silver each to their own and couldnt really give a rats clack what everyone else thinks and anyway isnt 270kw and over 530nm performance enough from the factory? granted its not up to F6 levels but cmon its quick enough

G6E doesn't come from the factory with badges on the sides does it? Or are you saying you'd take off the badges you've already added?

that was ba bf that was blue?
im pretty sure the wheel centre fpv was, (happy to be corrected) and the fg was the black silver, same for the badges (?) in fact i would have a complete top grill and bottom grill with no badges or logos what so ever on the car so if anyone knows of an after market grill that has no centre for a badge then im in for one if i could get another cheap one second hand id cut it and see what one would look like meshed up and do the same on the bottom but thats what i like different folks different strokes we got the car with the side badges on im guessing thats standard tho. yet im all keen to get them off, along with the boot ones

I put a Tickford badge on my FG cause Tickford made cool cars and I want my FG to be cool I actually only put it on with sticky tape for the purpose of this thread.

IMO putting a V8 bonnet bulge on a 6 is not a big deal. But putting a V8 Badge in a 6 is a bit try hard.
When you put a 'better' badge on your car, people who know a lot about cars know you don't own one, so they are not impressed by it. Everyone else doesn't know what the badge means, so they are not impressed by it either. When I see a 'better' badge on a car I assume the own is embarrassed by what car they own so they are trying to trick people into thinking they own something else. Then I wonder why they bought a car they don't like and seam to be embarrassed to own. |

Its funny how many 3 series BMW's you see with 318i badges removed and an M badge fitted. Nice try.

Here's a new one for you.
Driving back to Darwin from Perth recently I noticed a very fast moving Audi coming up behind. It was definitely an Audi as it had the four rings on the grille. I was unable to tell what model it was as it was like none I had ever seen before. When it overtook me there, on the middle of the boot was the Toyota "T" symbol and the words Camry.

If it is a Ford use a Ford badge, if it is an FPV use an FPV badge. That's what I think.
I had an XR6 in Nitro and didn't like the contrasting blue of the Ford badge so I swapped over to chrome XR badges. It just felt wrong to use FPV badges. In the end though it is your car and you can do what you like. |

I looked at a few car yards in QLD the other week. I stopped into one to look at the 310 F6 they had out the front. Hmmmm Turns out it is an FG XR6T with F6 dash, 310 decals and painted FPV racoon eyes and body kit....... All this could be yours for 35K LOL

I have mixed feelings on badge placement. To me placing a FPV/Tickford badge on a Falcon is like a HDT/HSV badge on a Commodore, but IMO it should correspond to be the right vintage.
For example a FPV badge on an EL would just be stupid just as a HSV badge on a VK. Or a Tickford badge on a FG and a HDT badge on a VZ. Plus I really do think it should be a V8. It makes me cringe seeing a stock as a rock 6 cylinder Falcon/Commodore dressed up as an FPV/HSV. Anyway as for Chev badges. I honestly can't stand them on Commodores. It's not so much the badge itself rather the principle. I understand when people used to do it with their 350 powered HQs and such and even early VTs powered by LS1s, but the thing is it's lost its meaning completely nowadays tossers put them on anything that has nothing directly related to Chevrolet. When I was looking at buy an SS I couldn't believe how many of them had Chev badges. I reckon Holden badged SSs are less common these days than Chev badged SSs. People say they do it to be different, but every Tom, Dick and Harry does it. |

Same with Merc.
Guy At work has a V6 S-class with AMG options. So he has his regular S320 badge(or whatever number it is) then he has the AMG badge on the otherside. So that's not too bad IMO. But If he took off his S320 badge and stuck on S600 then that's try hard. |

To me everyone who replaces their car’s badge with a different make or model is a TRYHARD! There is absolutely no good reason why a vehicle of any make or model needs to be re-badged. Even in those few cases where a vehicle is sold under one brand in one country and another brand in another country (e.g. Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infinity). Trying to fool everyone into thinking your car is better than what it actually is - is the classical definition of ‘trying very very hard’!
If you don’t like the badge on your car, then just remove it. At least this way we know you are not a TRYHARD but simply a person who could not purchase the car they really want (for whatever reason).

Ehh I think it's all subjective, I mean my Fairmont is a S1 Fairmont Ghia, but I'm chasing a series 2/3 Tickford kit, or even a T1 or T2 body kit, and my car is by no means a T series.
That said, that is a big investment into the look of a car, but I'm not putting any FPV badges on the car. Because it is in no way related to FPV lol The chev abdges on commodores is something I just don't understand because if all these proud SS owners are proud of their Holdens, wouldn't they want to have a Holden badge? Also, a chev badge does nothing performance wise and would only cost a few dollars... Wouldn't you want to put those few dollars towards something like a nice exhaust tip?

It's like taking your girlfriend out on the town and every time you get the chance, you introduce her as " Elle McPherson "
You know she's not they know she's not Goose. But...if you bought her a set of genuine Elle McPherson style "bolt ons OO" , and didn't bang on about it, all good, they would admire and enjoy the visual.....

sorry to be wandering off topic - but the side G6E turbo badges like http://performancedrive.com.au/wp-co...ge-630x472.jpg are actually in the spot where the lower models have the side indicators like http://performancedrive.com.au/wp-co...or-630x417.jpg which I'm assuming would mean there'd be a hole underneath... Unless you wanted to put indicators there in addition to the wing mirror ones, you'd have to fill it up or put a different badge there.
