After a small incident in which one of my mates was booked and fined (read in the B Series section), I've been wondering about the fines being issued and more importantly the demerit points.
I was pulled over and booked about a year ago now in my old AU for wilfully (???) creating undue noise, which what happened was I accelerated to 3000rpm and the lights behind in the undercover Commo flashed his lights and yeah, there was more to it but that's not the point. Damage all up for me was around the $400 mark. Now what QLD Police don't tell you is if you've lost points at all. I've looked up the fines I got done for on the QLD Transport website and it does say there is a points loss, but yet there's no mention on the ticket you get. Do they have to write down the points you've lost on the ticket for it to count, or are they magically whisked away without you knowing?

you cant find out what points you have from the website but there is a list of what offences have points attached and how many.
if you want to know how your points score is fairing , you can just go into the transport office and ask at the counter. probably need to show your licence so they know your not checking up on someone else. i have asked a couple of times and the clerk has always been helpful. mostly just need to have a bit of free time to que up to get to the counter.

In a nut shell ... no the officer doesn't need to write down the points ... just the fine amount.
In NSW ... you can check your points via the RTA website. (For all those here wishing to know.).
