Hi Guys,
Just thinking about re-registering the old ute, I did a comparison on greenslips.nsw.gov.au and the quotes all came back $800- $900. Does that sound right? It is re-register after a lapse in rego? Cheers Mark |

I renewed my other rego early this year and ctp was nowhere near that expensive. could be time to move that on though to someone else wanting a cheap banger as 1400 is bit more than I am wanting to pay to use it occasionally. Also blue slip for it cheap but they wanted to go over it for nearly 2 hours..what a hassle, it's only just out of the 3 month period..the nsw state govt and rta are weird but I guess that's an obvious statement :-) |

Crickey! I just got a green slip for my commercial vehicle (business registered) and it was $432! $900 is a lot of coin for a green slip. Have you tried valuegreenslips.com.au?

Oh it seems there is some "surcharge" or extra levy...
it's expired rego, I just quoted a renewal and its still high @ $635, any idea why for those in the know. no point in whinging but it's good to understand why so I don't get stung again. |

I think Greenslips are getting like regular insurance these days, in that the price depends on your address, driving history, age and type of car etc.
This is probably why our great RTA now let us have 6 or 12 month registration. 12 months is too much for some families.

Try Budget Greenslips 02-46471588. I have found them to be $100 - $150 cheaper than anyone else.

I don't think I have the 6 month option as the rego has expired as I would take that up for sure. It does seem that this whole ctp cost is right out of control, anyway's I did say I wasn't going to whinge. |

Yes considering a move to Adelaide next year if things don't go as planned in this rapidly crumbling state.

If you want cheap insurance move to S.A or Tassie. I bet you will be jumping for joy when you get your bill for insurance if you moved to either state. lol |
