sorry but to me yes these types of things are about giving money to charity but in too much of an elongated way.
save the b.s and just give the money you'd spend on entry , the car and fuel to the charity. that'd be a lot less selfish |

Where will you get a mint car with less then 100000kms for $1000?
Surely anything else will be too dangerous and unreliable for the trip. |

As much fun as the rally would be, I agree with this man. After reading the T&C's (a massive headache has ensued) not all of the money goes to the Cancer Council. So much faffing about from fundraising to the CC getting the money.

Why cant you do the rally and donate. Why do people need to rain on parades all the time?
If people have the time it would be good exposure for the site and there are worse idea's kicking about.

Look out for a WF Festiva, with 1.5L and manual, you'll make it right to the end that way
Its like the diesel Land Cruiser of 1990s hatch backs. |

Whilst it's not a bad idea you might have left it a little late, or come up with $4,000 in 3 days ..........
From their FAQ "You have until the Friday before the rally starts to have the $4k minimum in the Cancer Councils account."

He could chuck in the $4K in donations right up and then reach out for donations ongoing here and elsewhere?

I've done this rally for the last four years but have sat this year's rally out due to work commitments. Absolutely great time and have seen so much of the country on roads you would never have believed the cars would make it. People have been on waiting lists to join for a number of years due to its popularity. Its the poor mans variety bash really!
