Hello,
I am sure they will go to good homes, given the cost. It would be nice if Ford Au finished with a retro Falcon. XR6T running gear in an XB hardtop shell. And an XY GT 2 door with the SC V8 also. Modern tech with retro styling. |

The three cars on the trailer together are all for sale. US$65000 for the Fairmont, $35000 for the XB and $55000 for the XA as is.

Sunvisor doesn't quite look right on a coupe, even if it's a Fairmont!

Hello,
For that money I doubt they would be left to rust in a backyard. I didnt always think like this, until I heard a Yank say the same as when Mustangs come over here. |

I'm sure the yanks will butcher the poor things, do some screwed up restomod on them or turn them into Mad Max replicas.

That's insane money in US terms. 65k would score a full works Cadillac escalade 6.2L, or a worked Mustang GT. Someone should get the Americans onto EA-EF, BA-FG Falcons and save them from the graveyard.

Start getting into EA-FG and I just don't foresee them being of any value to a collector especially to the Americans. Those Coupes still look big and imposing on the road

I don't think they will become restomods. There is a following amongst Ford guys over Stateside of Australian Fords.
A friend of mine over there who occasionally posts on here (ken1939) is currently restoring an XB ute back to basically standard. |

G'day all....I posted this video in Barn Finds Still Out There...a couple of weeks ago by the way...There is another one too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8H6zvwWXvs..called Mad Max Interceptor Reveal and this features a finished car..I'm not a real Mad Max expert but I do know this..The' real' Interceptors is the 4 door XB police cars in the movie..not the black one .. I found that out from a Mad Max tragic...That said ..They LOVE our classic Falcons like crazy...Cheers Rod

Sad to see more of our coupes going overseas, there just aren't many here to start with. Until the late nighties nobody really had much love for our coupes, I bought a couple of them in 2000, a running daily driver for $1800 & a parts car with rebuilt 351 for $800. Back then it was within the budget of an average person to buy & restore an old coupe, but today it really is out of reach for most. Sad really but those with the money can buy what they want, even if they are from the states.

They'll probably get butchered into Mad Max cars, thats all they know and care about as far as Aussie coupes.
Shouldn't have been allowed out of the country, only kidding, money talks.

Maybe the company called Dynacorn can get hold of one and start reproducing the body shells.

We have to pay back all those foreigners who have butchered our classics.

If you ever run out of ideas or need a little extra motivation for you imported classics, make sure you fill the boot with 1980-90's car magazines. In terms of 'butchering classic cars'.. you couldn't *&^% them up more even if you tried.

Hello,
If they bought it, it is their prerogative to do what they like to it. Most Yanks have little taste IMO but that is it. Buy them all to stop it, or live with it. The upside could be that if they became popular as a retro, many parts may be remade there. A shell is not out of the realms of possibility. |

I find myself feeling a little protective of our coupes after watching that.
Americans have got a huge number of awesome muscle cars and classics to choose from - leave our coupes alone! |
