Looks interesting, I notice that Turbosmart has just released an electronically controlled wastegate to control boost also. |

Sounds like F1 tech for the road.

What are its power requirements?
Will this be a bolt on feature for a standard car with 12v, or onloy on hybrids where higher voltage is available? People have played with electrical chargers for decades, but the drawback has always been the power needed to get it up to speed., necessitating massive current draw at 12v, and guaranteed to fry your battery.

You were right. Most of them are 48V or higher. But there is an eBoost (electric supercharger) that comes in 12V version, as well as 48V versions. It will for sure not be cheap to replace one of the eTurbos. |

What on earth has this Australian eBay seller been hacking together in his shed?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Elec...sAAOSwQLZeHJ2j Looks like a modified battery power tool attached to half a turbocharger?! |

The 12v eBooster is a relatively low power supplemental booster, to assist turbocharged engines at low speeds. ie it can provide a very small amount of boost to supplement the turbo whilst its still spooling up.
