The Car you really hate

As title suggests what is THE car you really hate. Later than 2000 preferred.

Doesn't have to be rational, fair or justified criticism. (fun thread so nothing personal to owners etc if have one listed, just a laugh!)

All that matters is something about them really grates on you as a car fanatic.

I'll start.

Mini Coopers (the newer ones).

Legit think look absolutely ridiculous, are useless practically, and badge means nothing to me.

I'm sure sure good handling cars but just cringe worthy for mine.

Close second: Hyundai Veloster. Just no.

For me the Mini Coopers aren't the most offensive but the other stuff like the Countryman are boggle eyed monstrosities. Sir Alec would be rolling in his grave.


I can't stand a lot of modern BMWs and Mercs, especially stuff like the X4 and X6. What happened to the elegance and beautiful engineering of the older cars...


Might also have to nominate the Camry for generally having hopeless drivers!

How you could walk into a dealer and go "i want that" and pay $$ truly escapes me.

But the it's great everyone is different!

Holden TK Barina 2005 - 2011 which was a rebadged Daewoo Kalos. Represented everything I hated about Holden. Prior to 2005 the car sold poorly as the Daewoo designed car was a mediocre product. Then Holden started selling the same car with the only changes being badges and other cosmetic tweaks. It sold in volumes up to 10 times higher than when it had Daewoo badges. But it was the same car being built by the same people in South Korea! Just the company name was changed to GM-DAT.

Mercedes x class. Reason being nobody will ever use one for the purpose of a ute. And i will elaborate further, i will include any other high spec dual cab ute. The tray is too short, and the interior is too precious for filthy work clothes.

Great call. Purpose and why bought vastly apart I suspect.

Many very capable SUV off-roaders (like Range Rovers) are similar.

Doubt less than 1% actually see real off road conditions not just the school fun to impress or out-do other mum's etc.............

I cant rat too hard on the benzs. My mum had an ML which had a transfer case, it was an 01 so it did have low range. When i had my p plates, it had seen (my parents didt see this bit) a bit of bush bashing, and it was full time 4wd so on the loose stuff, 4 wheel doughies. Prior to that when i was an L plater, it was the tow rig and i taunted my dad for a long time because he was **** at reversing the boat, and at boat ramps, the last thing you want to be is the **** guy at reversing. Well, turns out i was the one and done. Did retievals in 2 foot of water off sand in that thing. Dad had balls to throw me the keys when i wasnt legal to even drive alone. But that thing was more utility then most 5 seater utes these days.
I also dont like any subaru after 1999.

The first VE GTS. Front bumper looked awful imo.

Also the vx commodore in general.

Prius has to be on the list

There is a lot of others but i find myself conflicted on whether i hate the car itself or the stereotypes whondrive them lol.

I know I will get grief for this but... Ford Ranger, Holden Colorado, Dodge Ram, Toyota Hilux, Isuzu DMax... yep the new Aussie pickup/ute.

Don't like em cause I just don't. They're the new bogan mobiles, only they are now high riding, owners think that they can drive over anything, somehow own the road, scrape other cars, need 2 car spots cause its raised higher than Mr Gadgets car with huge muddys, look like a dogs breakfast (especially that RAM) and generally driven like they are a sports car.

Oh and a Prius.

ps; why a VX is disappointing yet the VT far worse and VY no better outside console I'm not sure but cool

I have a thing towards Subarus excl Rex/sti's.
French cars meh.
Some Yanky brands/models are just POS and so fugly.
