Great story. Glad to hear it was only him injured the accident, so its a great result in the end. Also getting statements from people who story will be the same, contradicting his story, will also prove to be another nail in his cofin. A Plater, I doubt will get a licence for a very long time.
A win win all round I say |

Totally agree with your actions mate...Someone could have been seriously hurt, if not killed.
If you wanna be a hoon take it to the track where nobody else suffers

Interesting, but i have to disagree with one thing, 120+km/h is NOT extremely high speed, that would be 220+km/h, and any idea on what happened to they guy in the jap car?

If you din't care, keep driving. To stop, laugh, spit in there face, then drive off without even makign sure they're ok, is more morally and in-decent then his act of driving his car in such a stupid manner. I can say, yes throw the book at him, but the line is drawn there. ^^^^ |

Why do you feel the need to point out he's a P plater? Working for the Daily Telegraph?
People do stupid sh!t no matter what their age. With young blokes it's more often than not speed..but I'll tell you that I've had more close calls with old folk who simply don't know the road rules or who are un-aware of their surroundings than I've had with P platers speeding. Give it a break. (btw - I'm not a P plater....) |

Yep - you get a well done from me as well.
That sort of behaviour is best left to people driving jap imports, not aussie built cars |

I remember a while back i was driving home after a get together at a mates place. I was in my old XC coupe, just after midnight doing about 90kmh odd crusing away on a country road in the Macarthur region.
Out of no where a VC Commadore flew past me as if i was standing still. The noise of the ratly 202 was trememdous. A bit on up the road, about 10 minutes, i negotiated a wide sweeping left hand turn, almost a hairpin, only to find Commodore tail lights glaring back at me in the scrub on the other side of the corner. The bloke and a woman were siting outside as mr speedy was looking quite embarased to say the very least as the woman was on the mobile. I pulled up and asked if they were ok, which they were. The bloke mumbled something and didnt want to look me in the eye. I smilled shook my head, droped the clutch then drove off. We have all been guilty of speeding i guess, but its only a matter of time before speeding drivers slip up, best case a speeding ticket or the worst, death of yourself, or another................... |

We've all done stupid stuff in the past. Let's just hope he's smart enough to learn from it. It would certainly be a wake up call.

i dont feel sorry for him, he got what he deserved, but i feel sorry for the BA.
in those sort of situations, where the driver has it coming (and you know hes not injured), you should attend to the vehicle first.

same sort of thing happened to me but from the idiots side, Was turning right out of a roundabout in my (was) 2000 AUII XL ute, had me ex missus screaming in my ear and we had both had a couple of drinks. On my P's at the time also, so i got the shits with her and floored it around the roundabout (completely forgetting that utes are alot lighter in the *** end) and had it sideways, over corrected twice and ended up slammin into a construction site. Completely wrote the ute off into a besser brick wall. No one was injured (thank god) but could only blame meself for gettin behind the wheel after a couple. Anyways, called the cops myself and told them what had happened and where etc, admitted i had a couple of beers prior to the breath test and took full responsibility. I was .088 over. Court day saw me lose me license for 3 months and got $400 fine. Since that very day/night, if i plan on having one or two beers i hand the keys over and walk/cab/bus/cartwheel home lol. not worth the hassle really but a good lesson learnt at the end of the day. Lots of people do it, its only a matter of time before something goes horribly wrong, i guess i just forgot that driving is a privelage and took it for granted. Anyhoo just thought id throw it out there
have a good one Cheers, |

He certainly did get what he deserved... And it just goes to show that its not just P platers in VN/VL commodores that behave like idiots on the road...
At least he may have learnt his lesson.

Yea - i mean i couldn't blame anyone else and running is just a coward act. If you screw up, take responsibility, be prepared for the consequences and learn from your mistake - it may sound like a vicious cycle but i had to learn somehow and unfortunately for me, it was the hard way.........

I would have pulled up and laughed at him and called him a few names.
The old man did a brilliant one a wile back, same sort of thing, except they flew up the outside then cut in front of him and kept going, then they got stuck at lights. The old man pulled up a a car behind them, got out of his car walked up and stuck his badge thou the open drivers window, Followed by "Evening **** head, you going to slow down now or would you prefer for me to call my mates in Traffic and have ya car impounded you bunch of **** **** ***** **** Morons." LOL |

It's a shame it takes something like this for them to learn their mistakes - they put all our lives at risk. I was taught early 'driving to prevailing conditions' - Yo cannot drive like that and expect not to crash..even the Stig could lose it or cause someone else who is not a party to your actions to crash.
Id have reported them - its d*^ks like this that lead to draconian laws that affect all of us.
