Anyone who puts Mad Max in their top three should also check out “The Chain Reaction”. It has lots of fast cars Fords and Holdens driving around through the Australian country side (sounds familiar ???). Produced by George Miller (who later produced Mad Max), and even has some familiar faces, like Steve Bisley and Mel Gibson (in a cameo).

The Italian Job (original 1969 version) is without a doubt my absolute fav, with great cars, and a great plot to boot!

notable mentions go to:
Mad Max, gotta love all of the Aussie Muscle in that one.
Blues Brothers, great bit of cinema there, gotta love that chase at the end.
The Cannonball Run, nothing but laughs from start to finish!

Totally agree with those choices,

A great movie with awesome cars - Dazed and Confused (tough cars)

Loved the driving scenes in Ronin.

Bit of a hoax but like rendevouz.

If you havent seen it this is unbelievable driving (crazy!) Its not a movie per se but worth the 5 minutes it takes to watch. (pikes peak peugeot 405 t16)

Let's see, since I am building an Interceptor I would have to say Mad Max as my first choice.

The original Gone in 60 Seconds for the rawness of it, real stunts, real wreckage, real driving.

Duel was really good. Spielberg's first feature film. The suspense was very good and the truck was ominous.

American Graffiti I actually watch quite often. What a great movie. Great story of what it took to make it as well.

+1 for Vanishing Point original

There is just something about the whole anti-society type cruising across country in a muscle car thing that just WORKS.

PLUS...the chick on the motorcycle wasnt bad either

The Last Ride (2004), stars Dennis Hopper

features 1969 Pontiac GTO, as well as a 2004 model.

Storyline is bad as the Fast and the Furious movies, but features a nice selection of muscle and tuner cars.

driver is seriously underated, the merc carpark seen is awesome nothing beats og 60 secoonds vanishing point and mad max though!
although ronin comes close.
tarantinos deathproof was quite a good film and kurts charger has to be the tuffest starcar since the pursuit special!
speaking of kurts car i saw a film when i was a kid it had a scene where two guys are racin and one is in a matt black ratty american car (cusso or bel air, cant remember i would have been about 8) the car had skulls and crossbones on it. one of the guys try to brake and realizes the brakes dont work and then crashes into a truck full of acid or something. real gory movie and the little i saw i still remember and would love to watch it.there was also a porsche movie something on the mountain something?watched that heaps as a kid. remember it being cool.
