i'll be investing in one when i have the EF re-sprayed... even if it is the front end and they may look a little ugly.. imagine yourself driving the last TS/E/L50 and you go through massive roadworks and "oh ****, i've damaged my original paint"... is it worth going without one?
I can say now, the EF will not be going on the road once its re-sprayed without a car-bra

Yours looks alright since its the same colour more or less. Something like a black on one a red car looks very ugly though. If I had a good car I may get one for a long distance country drive. But for city use I would just leave it. |

I've got a yellow carbra for my yellow SP. However due to some suspension related issues i haven't been able to use it the last couple of trips i've done, which has seen the front of the ute sustain a little damage.
Regarding the heat, i drove my SP from Moree to Adelaide in the middle of summer, with the days being over 40 degrees, plus travelling 110km/h+ towards Broken Hill (110 is legal out that way) with no problems

ugly or not i still kick myself for not buying one for our GT when we first got it in 05. i now have the hassle of finding a reputable painter to do the whole front of the car because of my narrow mindedness 5 years ago.
a bra will definately be going on when the paint is back up to scratch. |

Take a look at my post #7. That's at 160kph or so and as you can see it's glued to the car. The two raised blocks you can see at the top of the trailing edge of the Bra are there to stop flapping. The only time there can be any paint rub is because people don't wash the underside of the Bra after use and so get a dust build up. |

Had a custom bra fabricated once. It had rubbing issues and the supplier didn't wish to know about it. So I binned it.
Purchased a Carbra Australia unit with no issues at all. As Pedro stated, clean the underside as wel. Wash, genie, vacuum. Did whatever you need to protect your pride n joy. |

Mine is black on black and looks good IMO. I don't use it for city driving. Only when I'm heading to Sydney or a long trip. A necessity with all the roadworks between brissy and Sydney.

A BRITISH department store unveiled a hi-tech line of lingerie today that stays on thanks to magnets.
The underwear, about to go on sale at high-end department store Selfridges, features tiny invisible magnets instead of fastenings to overcome the problem of tricky bra hooks. The bra comes with a matching pair of "clip-on, clip-off" panties, which have magnetic side strips. Created by French designer Laetitia Schlumberger, and named “Dement” - the French word for 'insane" - the underwear costs upwards of £165 ($US256) for a bra and panties set. “While fumbling to unhook a bra strap is a romantic comedy cinematic cliche, it can actually be quite a passion killer," said Helen Attwood, the head lingerie buyer at Selfridges. "This new magnetic lingerie is not just easier to use, but also the biggest innovation in the underwear market for years. Those moments wasted with the bra fumble can now be put to much better use."

[QUOTE=J.C.]As ugly as some people believe a carbra maybe, they do serve a purpose.
QUOTE] Thats mine behind J.C.'s TS - I actually like black vinyl bra on blue compared to lace Look they aren't the best looking item on any car TBH but my as others have said they serve the purpose perfectly. If your car is a daily it would be a PIA but when your beloved is a garge queen and only comes out for cameo appearances or interstate meets/shows they are GOLD as above. I hate stone chips on her and on certain colours they stand out like dogs balls ala blueprint - having gone through 3resprays it would be more if it wasn't for my black vinyl BRA Easy to look after once you know how and well worth it ! DGAF how it looks to others......

Has anyone had troubles with headlight damage? I have read headlight protectors are a must to save the headlight from scratches. Would glad wrap suffice?

So do you have to prepare the paint for putting one on? Like maybe a really heavy coat of wax after carefully cleaning the surface so there's no dust or grime where the bra will touch? I've always worried about chaffing on the edges. But then again, with the Edge colour of our new G6E, every little mark stands out like dogs cobblers...so maybe a bra for long trips would be OK.
Another question now...what can I expect to pay? I went to CAR-BRA Australia website, and while they give details about the things, and have an "order online" form, they don't actually tell you how much the things cost... |

used mine a couple of times now, first time i Didnt pull it down far enough an it scratched just above the number plate but was my fault. Just a good wash an when dry wipe over with a micro fibre cloth. I also bought a bucket of cheap micro fibre cloths and but one up an place little bits near the metal hooks on the wheel archs and down the bottom corner just to be safe

The drive back from Brisbane to Mount Isa had the car looking like that at the half way mark (about 900km's) I used it on the Townsville run to see the V8 Supercars (1800 kms round trip) Stopped all the main stone chips on my car - didn't stop the one half way down the bonnet bulge though

Its got the cutout for the fully size plate, its just sitting way too low on the car.. No offence bud, but you dont want to restrict the air to a boss 335, they need as much air as they can get... |

Heres mine. I had to get it custom made to fit the XR50 front bar.
This was taken on a trip in 2005 from Canberra to Adelaide. On the way to Adelaide, we drove through and collected some Gallah's. I took 2 direct hits. One on the side mirror and one on the front bar. Removal of the car bra, they was no damage to the front bar which is fibreglass. No cracking. The mirror took a direct hit and the glass came flying out at about 110kph. Car bra is well worth the money you pay. |
