I drive past that spot regularly and it is a slight decline towards the the next bridge you pass under and the road cambers away from the side he is doing work. The issue is, unless the person knw in advance and had a decent camera, the last two shots would have been taken by standing on the road, not a place of choice to take photos.

Look to the left of the leaking water, iti is defiantely not oil, looks like a copy of the same spill has been airbrushed out and the flaring of the image of the hoist and tool box looks like a photoshop job.

Looks real to me. Taken with a phone camera that had a dirty lense.

I've called Mobitow and they said it wasn't their truck because theirs are yellow. They put me on to their contractor Autocare who I have spoken to, emailed pics and the lady I spoke to is going to get the story for us if she can.

Stay tuned.

Ok....
Where does the engine crane come from?
Does he usally carry overalls and a crane with him?
We see a wide shot with no cars in front or behind..

Next,
Why on earth would you be stupid enough to pull an engine out on the side of the road?
Considering that if caught by council etc you would be fined for environmental reasons..

The picture sizes are big, yet there appears to be plenty of "noise" (grainy) so its either a VERY crap camera or the noise has been added to hide the photoshopping.

The pictures themselves dont appear to have natural lighting, so again it appears the pictures have been altered.

The person had to stand on the road to take one of those pictures again not very safe, neither is pulling out an engine on the side of said road.

Once the engine is out, how does he intend to carry it on the tilt tray?
Are they gonna skull drag it up once the car is on the tray?

and next is.. who took the photos?
His other half?
Does he want a divorce?

Id imagine the tilt tray guy would be ****ed off if he shows up to pick up a broken down car and instead finds some idiot on the road pulling out an engine. A simple job turns into a long wait as the bonnent needs to go back on, the car pulled up on the tray, then lift a HOT and heavy motor or skull drag it, and then wait for him to clean up his mess , tools and collapse the magical crane.

I don't think it's shopped. Check out the train gantries behind him, the car appears to be pretty close to the same distance from them with both angles they're snapped from.

I got a crane in the back of my XD sedan plenty of times but if you want to know what really happened, look at the grassy knoll in the background, I think I see a shadowy figure standing back there...

Great story.

One thing for sure, if it is real which I doubt, he must have been passed by more cops than you could poke a stcik at. That section of road is favoured for access to the 24 hour deli in Vic Park which is a favourite place for WAPOL members to grab food and drinks from as well as access to Great Eastern Hwy.

Knowing a couple of WAPOL members, I forwarded the pictures to them, but they think the photos are faked as they pointed out, the Highway Patrol boys go down there every hour and they would have taken great delight in running him up and making sure it made the media.

One said, probably a future RAC or Mobitow advert coming up and they confirmed that it is a Mobitow truck in the background. RAC towing is yellow not Mobitow.

I received this reply from Autocare:

"Well i have spoken to most the guys in the base and that picture is def causing some chatter amongst us all. I have been told by Vince that Cannington towing used to be owned by a guy called Daryl. I’m not sure how to get in contact with him but he would probably be able to help you further.

This is not a mobitow truck that we recognise."

Anyone here know Daryl that used to own Cannington Towing?

If the cops had have seen him, he would of gotten caned for doing it. Westrail would have also kicked up a stink about him putting stuff into the railway reserve over the crash barrier - train drivers would have seen him and radioed the cops about it.

It would be easy to find out the truth if it is real or not. Unfortunately no one knows th etime and date it is supposed to have happened. It would then be very easy to go to MRD and Transperth and confirm from camera footage.

I have checked with a friend at Channel 7 and this has been circulating for a while, but was believed faked by their techs when they put it through some hi def equipment.

I know 95% of train drivers would of not cared about this guy putting stuff there. Look how small that 'fence' is. Its not like he had his stuff in the "4 foot."

One thing that tells me its fake is that he is so close to the road and he doesnt seem to care. This is a main freeway and some of his stuff is over the line onto the actual road.
