Those things are actually commerical trucks. They're not intended for sale to private buyers. You can't drive them on a normal car licence here, you need a MR or HR licence to drive one.

The F150, F250 and F350 are intended for personal use. The F350, when fully optioned, can tow 9500kg and fit over 1500kg in the bed, while seating five in comfort.

The big ones, F550, F650, F750 are used as dump trucks, garbage trucks, cement etc etc. They can also tow huge amounts of weight, well over 10 tonnes.

The lack of thought going into the posts in this thread is nothing short of appaling.

Towing??? You don't need to tow a dragcar if you get the wagon model. Just drive the dcar in the back, there heaps of room.

Hey buddy.. Glad to hear a positive spin on the f650 rather than people bagging it. I've got a black 6 door unit on order from the states and will be arriving early December (2010)... The first 6 door behemoth in Australia.
It's a serious work truck with a 8 foot tray, an awesome tow capacity to pull my boat and huge work trailers and its potentially a fun machine that transports 8 people in super comfort and style on the weekend. Cummings give the motor a one million mile warranty and no doubt hired out on weekend weddings/ formals etc... And it's certainly not compensating for anything.
Let me know if your in Sydney.. Happy to take you for a ride in it.

I've been in one of those things and they're awesome.
Why should people who want to take more than 4 adults anywhere be relegated to a minivan? I for one am sick of the average idiot who wants us all to conform to some marxist utopia that restricts all of our freedoms. We get enough of that on a daily basis.

By car he means Nascar im pretty sure?
A lot of these are used to tow the nascar trailers that house the cars.

Thank you for the power investment and kind words... It really irks me to read some of the narrow minded opinions posted that denigrate a unique vehicle such as an f650.. whether it be jealousy, inability to stray from the norm, arrogance or otherwise.
It's all relative. It's deemed 'ok' and maybe ever 'awesome' to drive a f150 or f250 but the average Hyundai driver sees that as extremism.. Maybe even a lone driver in a falcon seems overtly extreme?
An f650 mightn't be everyones cup of tea aesthetically, and I can understand that view point and happy to hear different opinions because beauty is an objective thing... But to lament that this is short appendage syndrome or small man syndrome is atrocious act of cutting of the tall poppy.

This is a car enthusiast forum- most of the members here own totally impractical cars- practicality is not why enthusiasts own cars now is it?

I have a large gold 2 door coupe that has a big thirsty engine,it smells, makes lots of noise, actually isn't that fast in todays terms, I can't see much when I reverse and the AC doesn't work..........practical? hardly but god i love it!
