I think it's great - an Australian car mixing it with the best European brands and getting good reviews (I haven't seen the latest ep though)

Anyone notice the promo for Top Gear on SBS recently? - its sponsored by Ford.

I wonder how well that - the VE on Top Gear - will go down with Ford Marketing.

I dont think the Ford vs Vauxhaul (holden) rivalry over there is as epic as here in Australia..

Nope...

Vauxhall has had alot of VXR cars.

VXR + Clubsport R8 = VXR8 works for me.

I don't think so. They loved the Monaro despite referring to the interior as "rubbish" and the car being cheap. They also love how it has plenty of equipment but the entire car isn't run by computers (eg, BMW i-drive). I reckon the FPV range would be regarded the same. Sure the V8s might be a little bit slower, but the FPV is regarded as a drivers car. It handles well, and brakes well

It will be season 9 - episode 6. In episode 5, they were testing tractors. Expect episode 6 to be on torrent sites by this arvo

The GTO was well recieved in the US, (despite some of the crap we were fed in the papers here) the target market for this type of car is small by US standards but there are no cars sitting around in storage yards! I spoke with a Pontiac dealer when I was there last year and he confirmed that the market there for that type of car was proving very tough as the 05 - 06 Mustang was doing exceptionally well compared with the previous model. The sticker price for the last of the GTO's (6.0lt) was $39,990 the problem with that is you could have a simular spec Mustang over there for a touch over $30,000, or for another $15,000 over the GTO price you could get your *** into a M3. As for the frontal treatment, sure it may not have been to our taste but it blended perfectly with the rest of the Pontiac range.

We all know the boys on Top Gear loved the 285kw GTO and it still sets the pace for performance for the money over there, and I would think the boys would love the F6 just as much, its unique, its aussie and it goes very hard for a showroom car. If HSV can get a car over there at a competitive price than WTF is wrong with Ford?

I'm surprised Clarkson liked it, normally he likes fairly clean looking cars, which the HSV isn't.
