Funny thing since posting I've realised the the purple 07 has time in the am/pm mode, the orange 06 had 24 hr mode, and no way that I could find to change it. I was going ask at next service but it got sold.

I'll always be a Kelly (Rick that is) basher.

And I'll always go for Ford in V8Supercars etc. I never want Holden to win any race or championship even though I own 2 Holdens.

The shots were taken with a Nikon D70. Those photos were taken using my Nikon Nikkor 28-120 lens. I also have a fixed 22 and I use a Tokina 80-400 for motorsport.

All im going to do is K&N air filter and I may do an exhaust and thats it. I just want to keep it as a nice every day sort of car.

And that way I can spend more money where its needed, on my track car :

any V8 OVER a hair dryer is A ++ . next time think wisely and buy a ford V8 . Then you would've waited for an orion v8. T's are a dying breed in FORD world . they cant even sell off the typhoon type R , limited ed. the cobras sold out in days .
WE never wanted to be a GT company. because we make more profit selling typhoons with less appeal.

i'm going to keep quiet now and put my flame suit on .

truth be known i like blue ovel / and lions. however v8's i prefer .
definately a standard ford 6cyl NA . IS best for reliability.

That, has to be the funniest quote I've read on these forums in the last twelve months. I can't stop laughing!!

If you're happy with your definition of performance being "bonnet bulge and exhaust note" then you'll love your V8. Some people want more out of their performance cars, like, you know, performance... ;)

Granted, the SS does perform very well, and if I had to choose a V8 car, there would be no question at the moment, the Ford V8's wouldn't even get a look in. Orion can't come soon enough. I'm sure you'll love your car Aeron, good to see you buy for the car, not the badge

VE V8 is on my short list to replace my XR8. I like the look of the VE, not sold on the 2 tone interior when the contrast is so stark.

Good luck with your purchase, one problem that many new VE buyers overlook is blind spot of the drivers A-pillar. Take it easy while driving around children and in shopping centres.

Many VE owners have comment on this with a number of close calls. One owner I know is selling that that very reason.

Dont know how the designers and the transport will allow a A-pillar blind spot like that to be road registered.

Its blown out of proportion IMO. There are far worse blindspots on all vehicles (over your shoulder for example) and if somebody cant accustom themselves to a wider pillar they shouldnt be driving. Many newer designed vehicles have thicker A pillars for strength now

We've got one of Both (VE Calais 6 LItre and a BFII Super Pursuit) and I'd still buy a BFII over a VE... The VE isnt as quick as everyone makes out, my BFII will keep with it to 100 and then walk away! The gearbox in the VEs are crap as well as the cheap electronics (see LS1 forums) and interior parts. BFII is a much smoother tighter better finished off car.. If you had asked me 12 months ago I would have said the VE was better, but now my Boss 290 has run in its much better, particularly in the smoothness of power delivery, the VE is all over the shop.

Um, I think you will find not very many people on LS1 agreeing with you at all there.. In fact probably none

I find my BA XR8 has the largest A pillar blindspot of any car I've owned. There's a particular roundabout in my area that I shift my head a few times on approach to make sure it's safe to enter. How much bigger is the VE's?

How many of them would own both? In fact probably none!

Regardless this thread is about congratulating a fellow forum user on his purchase. Personal buying decisions aren't a debate.

Agreed. However many have driven both - myself extensively - and I owned a BAII

Very Few own or have driven both (that goes for both Blue and Red blooded fans).. Most go on what you read in magazines, for me personally I have criticised FPV on a number of times with regard to the lack of performance (and in doing so have upset a few people), but as an overall package coupled with the ZF 6 speed auto the FPV wins! Im not the only one here who has this belief, ask Bionic GT, he has a WM Caprice with the 6 Litre V8 and a GT, and he seems to have more gripes then me about the Holden. There are still plenty of guys buying GT's and F6's over the HSV counterparts...

Well, I can't say I am happy with the exteriro colour let alone the LSD inspired interior. But, if you are then, okay, it's your money.

See you back in Ford land in a couple of years!

I've driven both through work and the VE A-Pillar is a size up again. It's pretty thick. Can't say I felt comfortable.
