Relatively inexpensive to purchase and readily available second hand, cheaper parts, cheaper servicing, better bang for buck.
Had an XF Wagon growing up. Great times.

because the closest thing I could get to a newer model mustang was an FG lol, really considering selling it and getting a maloo or F6

Well truth be known.. I was a Valiant man first and foremost, but when they passed away.. Well, how can I put this? I always had respect for Fords, and the folks who drove them seemed a bit like the Valiant crew, there was mutual respect if you like, unlike the Holden crowd who hated everything! So when the time came to get another car it was a Ford!! I have had an EB, EL, AU, BA, BF, and now the FG, all been great cars rate the EL and FG as the best.

Growing up I was a holden nut. Then when I was 15 I spotted and bought my first ford which was a modded XF panelvan. Searching for more power I traded my dirt bike for a VN commodore. This was the biggest mistake of my life and big learning curve. I got it home and was a never ending nightmare so got rid of it and have been ford ever since. These days I am a die hard ford fan although appreciate a nice holden. I find fords are nicer looking, more comfortable, ride better, sound better and are a whole lot more reliable. I am 20 now and own a few fords that I absolutely love (EF Ghia, XE fairmont351, XE S-pack, XF S-pack, XR wagon and more lol)

My Dad was a car fan full stop. One of his best cars was a black hq with transam front and 350 chev but it got stolen a few times and he sold it. The whole time i was growing up my dad had fords/holdens and i always wanted to help him fix em. My swaying point was his TC cortina wgn that he bought and he was in his shed tryin to get it running. He stuffed the timing and it caught on fire lol. Then he bought an xf sedan 6 auto when they were still pretty new and he changed the paint and we were cruisin through Minto nsw in style.
Needlesss to say the first car i bought was a cortina and then when the rust took over i sold it and got my first xf and done a 351c conversion. I have owned 30+ fords now but i still have 2 cortinas, 1 xe, 1 xd, 1 ef Fairmont ghia 5ltr, 1 maverick and 2 ef 6cyl. FORD is my life when it comes to cars, my missus comes from a straight holden family and ive got her hooked lol. FORD for life. |

I will let you in on a party trick that may just save you putting your foot in your mouth so much. Before coming back with clever replies to people's posts just quickly look through their history and see if you have actually got it completely wrong. Sometimes the person you are replying to does know what they are talking about. Because of this facility you will find that the majority do not lie, make stuff up or pretend they are or have done whatever. It is far to easy to get caught. In saying that beware of the "stealth troll". These pathetic people have no details in their profile and go to great lengths to remain totally anonymous while attacking and ramming their personal agenda down everyone's throats. |

BY LUCK!.. In the 80's i was a chrysler man MOPAR! hehe right up to 1991 where i was after another V8 charger. Bought one actually.. an E55 but returned it after i got home and got all my money back $8,500+deposit!
I always liked coupes, well the GT's, their rear stance but one day after leaving a pub at Magill, saw this white 302 coupe outside and it just looked so good and thought i might go ford coupe (XBGT). Next week saw my coupe advertised for $9500 ahh too much i thought, next week saw it for $8500 so went down. As soon as i saw the rear of it in the driveway (sitting on 275*60*15) i wanted it! and did for $7750 - first and prolly last ford |

Because nobody gave me a Ferrari.
My old man likes Fords so I grew up in them and it rubbed off. I like the sound of a V8 and wanted a modern car so I bought the BA. Actually it was bought on a spur of the moment decision which I would have taken back a few years ago. I'm content with the old (young) girl now.

Currently don't own a ford. I brought my old EF Fairmont because my
Mate had an Ef falcon and when I drove it I liked it, started looking and found the fairmont with the v8. Loved that car got rear ended. I'm looking at buying a ba ute as the commodore ute is harder to get a tray top and also like the look and quality of the fords over the commodores. |

My old mans first ford was a '59 Fairlane Stn Wagon. Mine was a second hand '54 Mainline Ute. Except for an HR Ute I've had me bum in a falcon ever since.

I always felt that the build quality was what sold it for me! little things like how the indicator stalk feels when pushed to the side, or the feel of the trim.

Best built, best looking, best sounding, best going, best price. All of that combined with being born a Ford man.

My old man had a 22 foot cabin cruiser when I was 10, and an IMMACULATE chamois beige HZ Kingswood with a 202. Man that was a bloody clean unit. Anyhoo, we took the newly aquired cabin cruiser down to the ramp and whacked it in the water, went out the back of Rotto(an island off Perth) and came back with an Esky full of fillets. Whacked the big boy back on the trailer and slipped the Kinga into first,(3 on the tree) and well, no dice. Old boys best mate was with us on the day and pulled it out with a 4.1 XE he was driving at the time. Mate there was a lot of knee slapping about the Kingswood after that, and to be honest the Ford my old boy had afterwards (XB 302) was rubbish compared to the Kingswood, but it pulled that bloody boat off the ramp. I just knew he shouldve got a 253 version instead of the tightarse 202. But the old Falcon 500 served us for 13 years, and proved far more reliable than the boat it was purchased to tow.

I grew up with the parents owning a TC Cortina (The 250, not the 4 cylinder one). That was one reliable car. Then Dad got the XE brand new to replace the EH (I think) Holden. Had the XE it's whole life and it's now in my shed after Dad passed away.
I started my driving life in a cheap, but reliable TE Gemini. Couldn't kill that thing no matter how hard I tried. When I eventually finished uni and got a full time job, it was time to get rid of the Gemini and get myself a new(er) car. Based on the great, trouble free motoring that we'd had with the other 2 Fords in my life, I naturally went for a Ford. Had the EL now for nearly 12 years and it has been as trouble free as the previous Fords. It'll be replaced soon with another Ford.

most practical and well priced vehicle for me. Unless iwas to go backwards and buy a VT wagon- nothing has the same room and looks as a BFII.
