No one could care less if the Nissan had of finished the race not bent in the wall. You are getting confused about why people were upset. It had nothing to do with the car, only the way they won the race don't corrupt history . Nissan only won the race twice in 10 or so attempts its not such a great record as people seem to remember.
The Sierra had good form in the late 80s but even the Commodores had more pace than it towards the end of Group A. It was all much closer than you think back then. I don't think there was a need to change the rules, it would have sorted itself out. |

for sure most of us didn't like the nissan (not hated as much as the commode dores though), but the booing had nothing to do with the brand of car at all so unless there is another red flag situation with the winning car in the wall, i doubt we will hear that line again |

GM have managed to get an Australian produced product into the line of sight of many US viewers. It must double or triple the production volume of the SS, mustn't it? A remarkable achievement with the $AUD so high against the $US.
It won't change the world (think Monaro to US or Mitsubishi Magna [Diamante]) but it will underwrite their business here for a while in a manner Ford seem unable to do. |

Who is to say this is the final base Commodore VF look? Maybe this car is still missing some bits or has too many bits … I would for example replace the side vent’s chrome paint with black, so they don’t stand out so much when viewed from side and blend in better with the black window surround.
The wheels I think are fine. They are small and simple … suits a base model and better than cheapo steel wheels Ford uses on the XTs. The front is actually fine, again its simple looking without any of the fancier bits the higher end models get … I think Holden got the balance between low end and high end just fine here.

But why no interior shots or back shots? … Seriously the car is open wide and exposed there and all they decided to take was 2 pictures of the exterior???

I drove an XT MK11 EcoBoost and (trying hard to keep my blue eyes neutral) absolutely poos on the VF for looks and uniformity from front to back. The wheels also look like proper alloy wheels on the XT, not alloy wheels trying to impersonate hubcaps. Simple is one thing but lazy design is another. PS: Have a look at the photo above .... PPS: Thought it was the VF thread sorry ....... should keep the topic to what it is here and continue the discussion here: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...384132&page=26

The Omega is hiddeous. No wonder they kept it hidden and only showed the Calais V and SSV.

That side shot of the Omega looks like it would be very nice if it was a coupe and was lowered with some nice rims.

Tell me .. where do we buy a two door VF Commie? No ... the bodies are not of the manufacture but are a standard size and profile for NASCAR.
