Tickford cars are already wanted and known, once ford goes under these will become classics. I think all the way down to the end of AU tickford era.

I got my XA Fairmont 351 4v falcon coupe with 600 hp in 1994 for $1500 bucks with mint black interior and yellow with black stripe exterior put 5K into it and loved it but listened to my parents the one time I shouldn't have and sold it six years later for 5K Now if I want one, the price is just too high for a good one and low cost ones are rooted most likely. not interested in spending 50 to 150K on restoring one to show or concours level either

AUIII XR8s will always be sought after cars, after T cars of course. |

I've always had a soft spot for the ED and EL XR8's as well, future classic for sure. But that doesn't always translate to appreciating prices. I think excellent condition, stock standard, low km examples will command a significant premium though. |

[QUOTE=tranquilized;5539932] is it just me or do the AU series 1 XR's look horrible?[/QUOTE
No, its not just you lol! Heard some say the same thing, but also have heard more positive comments about the full S1 body kit & wheels. I agree though, the stock plain jane low spec S1 XR's need some different wheels at the minimum, those stock 16inch wheels look a bit trippy hey! Still a damn fine car though, a good base to mod for sure & yep I'd have one too np! cheer's, Maka

A little harsh, a 2v is rather sort after now.
It will be akin to every mofo swapping out the VCT for a 5.0..tags not matching = devalued.

Great pics EBV8
Yes Polyal, I wonder if people will learn from history and decide NOT to swap out original drivetrains this time around? Not so much 'GT copy from GS Fairmont slaughter' before the XR6s go classic. What has happened is with P-plate laws restricting V8s in some states, the XR6s have been the modding base of many young drivers... finding the original one is the quest now. One other thing I love about my Tickford is the individual tags stamped on each body panel with matching numbers... There was even a matching tag still on the diff... As someone interested in the cars, originality is important.

I reckon the right ones are worth it, the boys sprint handles like nothing else and goes like a cut snake, he has been told many times if he ever sells it I'm first in line

They will be classics to Ford fans that grew up in that era but that's about it. Similar to an XE ESP. Doubt they will ever be worth huge amounts.

Define huge amounts. I would have thought the $50-$60k asking prices for a genuine XE ESP 5.8 are pretty huge amounts for an XE

Anyway I was thinking around max 20k. Cant see anyone paying much more than that for a 90s Tickford in the future depending on what it is. Maybe a GT will get closer to 30k. |
