You really are Pathetic aren't you? Well, just to let you know, I'm not a dumb ***** as you're assuming by my "Forum Grammar". I have made my point clear, that you're obviously quite discriminative against females, however I used less insulting wording for you this time! Where you were dissing me for my grammar, was that just a comeback for your lack of intelligence, and respect, because you couldn't THINK quick enough to write something more appropriate to the issue, other than spelling. I may be 17, but to put it blunt, I believe strongly in what I have to say, Thank you very much!

FYI - The word 'gonna' doesn't exist in the english language. You need to replace 'gonna' with 'going to' : |

Yeah.. I know one of the chicks I used to work with, has an r33, and she can sure as hell drive, not to mention i met a woman once when i was working in the salon, who had just turned 51, and purchased herself a TT 300ZX. So I just have a lot of strong beliefs..

Not necessarily. Exclusive for women. My Farimont Ghia indeed has the Vanity mirrors on both sides, and quite frankly, i admit, being self conscious i check myself at every set of lights.. LOL.. but.. guys who are heading on a date, or to a meeting, or who take pride in themselves might LOVE to use the mirror?!

This thread has gone way off the original topic. I believe it is fine for a girl/woman to be a mechanic or something in the auto trade, Why not? At my work (automotive engineering/engine rebuilding) my boss and i are the only 2 that work there and his wife actually helps out quite a bit including, cyl head pressure testing, valve vac testing, buffing and re-grinding valves, cleaning engine parts and stripping multi valve heads which some aren't as easy as they look. To be honest she does a very good job and does it just as well as i would. So i say LilMissDrift if you want to be a mechanic then just go for it and dont let a few knock backs ruin all your hopes and dreams. Good luck with it.

I'm meeting more and more women here in SA that are into cars. When it comes to imports..i'm still learning. I sit there with a blank face most of the time, they know more then me. If a guy was to come up to some of these women and try and tell them what to do to there car, they would be quiet promptly told where to go along with a kick up ****.
Women can know as much as men with cars, but some people are stuck in the ye-old days. Dont get angry...get EVEN!

im a chick . i own a laser Tx3 (yeah i know typical girly car ) i also own a 1967 ford Xr wagon . i had the same proplem trying to get into the automotive trade i wanted to do a apprentaship but after applying and applying and never getting anywhere i decided to go around it .i did reception work to start off with and went for jobs that could be angled towards the automotive trade (went from receptionist to assistant to manager of a waste disposal company ) and from that work and experience im getting interview for service manager positions at car dealerships ..
age isnt a deciding factor : im only 18 . i get the stereotyping as well and i know how it feels it gets you down and shitty , i get alot of "love ya car" in the laser coz people thinks its girly and weak , i go home and get in the xr and drive past them and they fair shut up quick with mouth hanging open :P .The way i look at it is : do you really care what other people think of you ?? if you love cars to hell with everyone else . and as far as jobs go work hard and you will get there ,(and maybe try a side door . do some work for a mechanic even if its answering the phone , prove that you work hard and you are reliable and when a job does come available you will have better odds. just my 2 cents |

Heheh The whole import scene is becoming very dominant, with more and more "younger" people going with the turboes as such. =dont get me wrong here im not saying turboes are only for younger people= however, being bought up as i have, im a v8 girl at heart, but i do appreciate the beauty of any car really.. i too, am currently learning more and more about the imports, i just want to get in there and have a go really!
And as for the aussie comment. That too is pretty spot on... hehe and i was waiting for a smart comment from someone about me "being a bloke" LOL... when in actual fact they're girls shorts, its the female version of the choppers top, and my tattoo is quite tasteful.. LOL... Lol and as for the doing work for mechanics.. i actually work in a workshop as a personal assisstant/receptionst/events organiser.. and being the only female there is awesome.. because it gives me a chance to be "one of the boys" so to speak!

Do you have an unrelenting urge to forever be scratching at your crotch area and position something else in said area?? If so then I think the town doc has been in on it too _2: Relax , it just means that you like you like what you like without looking at what everyone else thinks, but I ask you this, how long will it be before the urge to 'kit up' your car makes it's way into your thinking LMAO
