The best BMW you can buy today. Whilst the rest of the line-up has been diluted, the 2 series, and M2 in particular, remain very driver focused.

One year / 8500km it's been near perfect. A few minor issues early on that got resolved (over sensitive alarm, ultrasonic sensor replaced and reprogrammed, no issues since; phone's Bluetooth connection unstable, got resolved with a software update; and finally a dead battery due to a bad cell, replaced under warranty). Otherwise, joyous motoring. At this point in time with my XR8, it had a faulty diff, broken door lock, leaking sump, crooked dash that needed realignment, buckled rear rim, and a touchscreen that was off.

€5bn investment in this car, including hiring some of Ferrari's finest to develop it, and it truly feels special! 375kW, 8 speed, 7300 RPM, 1525 kg with Carbon Fibre everywhere does that I guess.

Drove my mum's BF2 Ghia last week and felt like I had jumped into a DeLorean, but it is unfair to compare!

Would love to bring it out on a cruise some time...

saw one of these parked very badly recently, them noticed the badge forward of windscreen and thought dopey bl***y Irish Git. cant even drive a car correctly. Didnt realise it was something out of the ordinary.

Nearly bought this (too small for my dogs unfortunately) which was prior to yours - and not as good but still looks sweet as imo

As I have a 4 door sedan with big power (FGX XR8), I think I would search for the biggest engine flat 6 Cayman with manual box and best suspension and brakes setup for 100k for my weekend handling toy.

Buy whatever you want!

Toyota's to me are extremely boring (Supra an exception) - I doubt many would disagree with me. It's like their head designer is paid extra to make them as boring as possible.

I'm equally sure nearly all agree decent value, reliable cars with good resale and if your preference no worries, enjoy!

Trouble for me is I set carsales to:
- New cars
- SUV
- max 100K - sort high to low.

up pops a very nice jag F-Pace which certainly appeals as they are a great looking car.

But 100K only get you into the 2.0L models

I’d have an M2 but unfortunately not much room for the family so probably a Patrol with a little bit of cabbage left for some accessories. Then i’ll just need another 100k for a nice off-road caravan.

I've looked many times. Jeeps look great - but are way off Euro quality - feels cheap and body gap panels...

I'd take the M2 new (and keep my R36 just for dog duties!)
