I wonder if the Orion team is looking concerned, smiling or laughing out loud that it's starting to hurt? Personal first impressions....underwelmed...even allowing for the quality/reflections, much like the first roadtests of the HFV6 after reading all the information. I seem to have expected a real wow factor and.....

Trust me, I was extremely temped too.. I followed him into the car park and waited for him to enter the shopping center before I took the pictures, but test mule or not, it's not my property.

I agree. If you want to know about the opposition then go to www.ls1.com.au. They have heaps of VE related info and pictures to satisfy all the fence sitters.

why not have a thread here about the upcoming VE?

its not at retailers yet, wont be for another 2-3 months

Its interesting to be able to see whats coming out and comparing it to what is currently out.

If you hate commodore's so much and don't want to read about it, then don't read this thread, its not that hard.

If the whole main page of THE PUB was flodded with VE threads, then i would agree with you, but its NOT, just one, only one so yeah no big deal

What bug crawled up your a$$ mate? It is making life that much more difficult for you that there are VE threads?
Other folks are interested. If you aren't don't open the thread.

I dunno.

I drove a VR Commodore about 10 years ago, and the Gear Selector out of that is what is in the VE. Also, I see Daewoo in the Steering Wheel and Dash, and Mercedes in the Climate Control.

The Handbreak is Gimmicky - button on top, and sitting flush. No doubt set for RHD/LHD. I will wait for Orion me thinks.

I don't know which daewoo your refering to, cause none of them have a steering wheel like that, infact its most like the New Honda Civic, which is a long way from Daewoo

i have to say that the wood grain strip across the dash looks VERY similar to what the Mercs have.
still, the car does look ok though.

Forget the look of the interior! The question is; Is the quility up or is it still flimsy plastic?

Lots of buttons on the steering wheel, maybe they have finally sorted out the cruise control. That abortion of a system that they have on the right hand stalk is not only stupid, it's counter intuative.

You will find when the handbrake is down it will fit into the centre console perfect instead of hanging up in the way of your leg or anything like that.

But just above the power window buttons i think you will find the buttons there are for the power mirrors. I have seen it on some overseas cars before.
I don't mind the look of the interior but i think it will looks best in black, But they might be trying to make a fare bit changes here with all model cars in the interior colours.

Love too see it when there are two lovers in the VE, and one crawls over the handbrake and hits the button on top - bwahahaha.

I don't think the interior looks that bad IMO....

Those new exterior pics - Is something leaking? Typical colour range from what I see....

When it's down and not in the way and into the console like it looks on the left side, The 2 lovers will have plenty of room there:P big gap between the centre console and the shifter

No Sequential/tipronic on the auto.
would be an awfully LOOONG prndl if it has 6 speed, so Im guessing no 6 speed auto.
Unless its on paddles/steering wheel.

Two square vents with adjusting wheel-edges between them, then a large screen above two round knobs flanking some buttons in the centre console, now where have i seen a centre stack like that?

Having a second and closer look at the interior shots, it seems the power window and mirror switches are in the centre console because it means less part chnages when the car is built in left hand drive. I think this is also the reason for the hand brake design, when in the down position it blends in like the grab handle on the other side.

Hate to say it but I think this Ve Commo looks bloody smick!!...hard to get the full picture with all that black crap on the front and rear but the shape is really nice....It looks like it maybe slightly fater in the track than previous models....
