The Mustang GT finished 3rd in Road & Track magazines PCOTY behind the Ferrari F458 Speciale and winning Porsche 911 GT3.
Not bad at all, the GT350 is going to be a beast.

Interesting that in one of the teaser videos they're talking about turbochargers and how they increase efficiency and allow more power to be made...and how they wanted this car to make lots of power.

Would all depend on what the final specs and American price ends up being. If it came with a turbo or two and handling and drivetrain upgrades I'd happily pay around the $100k mark for it. That's HSV GTS money and comes with the same level of tech and features (if not more), but the Mustang is by far the better looking car!

Some more info and a 3rd teaser vid.
http://www.torquenews.com/106/3rd-20...stang-v8-video

Doesn't indicate much about the turbos if anything but only a V8.
Does however show some other components.
Either way this GT350 sounds like it is going to be a monster. I like what Ford is doing.

Look at the consistent sale of FPV and HSV over the standard performance offerings and the aftermarket enhancement of cars to answer that question.

Many Aussies like to go to the next level with factory produced models and many more aspire to.

Hmm noticed 17.11.14 at the bottom of the vid....

I think they are explaining how EB engines have made them rethink what levels they need to take their NA engines too now...all good.

^^^^^ It was also on that Motorsport heritage video, so I was thinking it was a date, the 17th of November 2014.

We'll know on Monday I suppose.

Its LA Motor show next week (if I remember correctly)... so would be thinking GT350 to be revealed next week...

I was hearing 5.2litre V8... leaving force induction for the GT500 Successor..

otherwise they would wait til Detroit motor show next year.. but I would think that is where the gt500 successor would be revealed.

That's correct, but at 70 plus on roads for the gt, are people prepared to pay 80 maybe 90 plus on roads for the next spec up.? And if so, how many.? Enough to make it worth there while.

That’s not far from Clubsport and Maloo R8 price territory plus Senator and the GTS before the supercharged model as well as GT and F6 and they appeared to sell in enough numbers to keep small locals companies variable.

The Mustang is helped by being a Global car and not just an Aussie build.

Honesty I don’t know if the car will sell at all or which models will be popular if it does, having only 2 doors limits its appeal but I do know there have always been many buyers who are prepared to extend their debt a little bit more to obtain something a bit more special.

Your guess is as good as mine.

When are they gonna tell us if this is replacing the GT500 or there is gonna be a new one of those too. Are they going with the Shelby name for the GT350 or nah ?

Wider front track and lower front end treatment, this is going to be a corner carver.

GT500 would come along once the hype for GT350 slows up...12 months or so later? Just keep milking it and let the owners enjoy having the best for a little bit.

Also love the idea of the 350 having structural difference...at least it makes it harder for GT owners to just power up and have similar results. Nice surprise I reckon.

But maybe the GT350 is replacing the GT500 completely

Maybe the GT350 is the circuit car to replace the Boss302 and the GT500 might run a FI version of the same engine to be the straight line pick....don't know. Can't imagine the 350 being the most powerful version...but it does have a better circuit history.

That idle at the end of the vid sounds horn! The silhouette also makes it look real low and mean! Can't wait till the reveal...and god I hope they bring them to Aus!

So you're saying there will be a GT500 as well and that we will be getting both models in Aus Bossxr8? If so I may have to hold off and see what price point the GT500 ends up coming in at...

There will be the two models, but as for wether they will come to Aus I don't know. I would say yes but that's just an assumption.

Don't know if this has been covered or not, but do you think we'll get the burnout button...? Victoria is the kinda state I'd expect to ban it...

Good luck Victoria haha. Can't ban something that comes factory, and coming from the USA.

I wonder if the police ever get these Mustangs, no doubt they will.Just imagine, every time they book someone, they can do a victory dance of smoke and burnt rubber.

Just because the button is there you don't have to use it...officially anyway. It's going to be a ripping conversation with the first hippy group to hark up.

Cars with buttons you cant legally use on the street is nothing new. Plenty of high end cars with launch control and you dont see them bouncing off the limiter whilst waiting at a pedestrian crossing.

I actually think the fact it's a 2 door car will broaden its appeal, not limit it. I for one, am buying it because it is a 2 door. I have only ever owned 4 door second hand Fords. I would never buy a new 4 door car. This will be my first new car. I want something special. If they made a 2 door Falcon - I'd buy that (not a ute).
