lol...that's right...well in that case whichever way you decide to go, get a retune and you will be very happy...also makes it easier if you go forced induction as you can just get another retune

Something to think about I guess
Maybe they could develop that into a system that uses intake air flow to power a suction pump to scavenge the exhaust gases...

You don't necessarily need tuning. The AU kit includes a chiptorque chip that plugs into the ECU's J3 port.

The Snort kits are cheaper on paper, but require further parts/fabrication and tuning (and probably larger injectors and a better fuel pump to optimise...)

I've been watching FI posts in Fordmods for about a year now and come to the conclusion that there wouldn't be much difference in cost between a blower and a low-pressure turbo delivering similar peak power without internal engine mods.

I would have a go at installing a CAPA kit myself (having R&R'd McPherson struts, heads etc over the years) but wouldn't touch doing a turbo install from bits & pieces, and I couldn't have my daily driver off the road for more than a couple of days.

So for me there isn't much choice, it's a CAPA kit or nothing... unless someone here knows a workshop in Newcastle that can install and flash-tune a turbo in 2 days flat.

The only thing against the CAPA kit would be the power delivery - a (turbo) rush at 2000 rpm would be real nice. I suspect that to be totally happy with the CAPA kit I'll have to fit a higher stall converter and then have the tranny strengthened to cope with the double load of extra torque.

As it is the motor has a step in power delivery at 2400rpm - I assume a blower will just magnify this whereas a low-pressure turbo would fill in the hole between 2000 (stall speed) and 2400 rpm?

a blower doesn't have the heat to dissapate like the turbo so it can be a bit friendlier on the engine there but i feel the main decision is what you want a S/C will work better off the mark as it has no lag although this isn't as bigger isue these days it still exists for outright speed the turbo is the go me if i was going to force mine i would go th S/C as i would want the grunt off the mark so it comes down to needs and wants
