Default Au3 XR TPS

Hi all.

I checked my TPS voltage last night with a multimeter. KOEO, and it was sitting at 1.24v.

I followed the instructions i read in another post, and enlarged the holes in the tps to make them elongated. I took as much out of them as possible, with out breaking out the side of the TPS with a dremel, but I can still only get the voltage down to 1.04-1.06V. I checked my base idle after the car was warmed up and the ISC disconnected and set it to around 580-600rpm.

Any reason why I can't get this down to 0.9v?

Regards

James

You really have to play with getting the holes right. I had to slot my holes so they looked more like an oval than a circle. This way i was able to get .99v on mine.

I've taken as much out as I can, anymore and the dremel will bust those ovals out

neither. the voltage simply wasn't correct when i checked it. was 1.24, but even now at the limits of the plastic i can only get it down to 1.04v.

If it's running fine why don't you just leave it alone? Fiddling with it is just asking for trouble IMO.

Because it simply isn't withing spec. It might be running ok, but why is the voltage so far off??? So I adjusted to suit, but still can't get it within tolerances quoted from ford, tsb's etc

I measured my brothers TPS on his AU 2 XR8 220kw and his was 1.2v. Havent bothered to change it yet tho. His hasnt been modified so i guess its been like that from factory.

The easiest way i found to do mine, was leave one screw semi tight and then twist it and tighten the other one.
