Hi everyone, picking my new ute up on thursday night, looking to put in my Explode12" 1200W Sub powered by US Audio Comp amp 600W on the weekend. The AUII XR6 VCT comes with 6speaker Prem sound as far as i know, but has no 8" sub like my mates XR6 BA. Is there anyway to connect the amp to the factory head unit and still have the sub sounding decent. Cheers in advance guys!

I tried everything about 2 years ago and could not do it. Everything I tried produced a humming sound through the amp. Go with an aftermarket head as well.

In my case I tried to hook up the standard head to an Alpine amp. Tried to hook up the speaker wires to drive it because their were no rca outlets from the head. Ergo, hummmmmm. I tried filters every thing but still the hummmmmmm. Only fix was a new head. Put a pioneer head with the Cat09 so I could still use the steering controls and its a great sound system now.

i tryed the same thing with the stocko unit, but didnt really like the stock one anyway so i got a pioneer dvd. Billc do you know how much the cat09 was?

Yep .. you can use hi/lo Level Inputs on the Amp .. Splicing the Speakers to the Amp points ..

yeah just like au2pwr said, u need a hi-low converter ($14 from jay car) and splice the wires for the back speakers it looks nearer if you put the converter behind the headunit its only small so it wont take up much room and connect your RCA's into that, also makes it easier if you decide later down the track to use n aftermarket HU since the RCA's would be right at the headunit any how. The left rear speaker wires are Pink and the right are Blue im fairly sure. just make sure you have the right speaker wires before u got splicing them
