I'm with Yaw on page 1 of this thread, buy a small curved mirror and stick it to your side mirrors, only a few bucks. Typically placed inner-bottom.

Must do that shoulder check (neck excersize) and keep a regular eye on rear-approaching traffic every few seconds at most. It's just an eye glance.

If your going to overtake someone, or a group of vehicles ahead, you can legally give a very 'quick' flash of the high-beam to help alert them to your presence, your indicators then show your intention.

Better than being sideswiped......

It really gives me the sh!ts when fully licenced drivers dont respect learners and dont give them room, they dont understand that they are nervous and are sometimes unpredictable, she is lucky that i at that stage had 48 hours under my belt so was starting to get the hang of driving. I know i am not perfect and all, but i mean geez, she could have given me room to merge.

oh that is oh so familiar.. fully licenced thinking they have the right of the road.. grumbles off to myself...
