Default Worth It?

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...d=11A5A818CA92

Wanting to get rid of the AU, it doesnt look like an ex cop car but with such high k's would the auto box be rooted already?

It has the 6 speed german box... you would need to clock at least a million km's to totally annihilate that box. Its much stronger than you think

I still think you will be able to find one with lower km's.

Thats not alot of Km's really. Prob over priced for the Km's but the gearbox and engine are still fairly young considering how long they can last.

Dont think its an ex NSW cop car, as it doesnt have factory reverse sensors. Judging by the number plate letters it looks like the original plates too...(ie it means its not a cop car from another state either)

An Unclke picked up a Silhouette BF (could even be a BF II) XR6 with 40000kms and ZF 6sp for $17500 fixed price from Manheim Fowles Auctions around 6 months ago.

This car is way overpriced IMHO

Avoid at that price

They arnt that price any more, the fixed price ones are now $20k and up. Recent model used prices have actually increased lately, guess less people are buying new and getting near new instead.

What gets me is why goverment vehicles need to be preformance vehicles such as XR6 turbo, xr8 and ss? besides cop cars. As if they need it.
I 've once seen at auction a new Holden V8 staesman, black and crome with leather and all the bells and whistles with less than 10 000km on it. Now tell me why is such a luxurios car needed for a goverment department. Whats wrong with the luxury features of a Futura/ FG e series/ Berlina, if you where that way inclined.

If you are refering to my statesman example above, I say it is from a govt depmartment becouse it was listed from TAFE NSW. One could only guess that it must have been the Head of State's car.

Govt's don't pay a number of taxes so they are cheaper to start with. Often they used to make a buck when selling them. But most importantly (most obvious too) they are competing for quality staff with the private sector. Are you suggesting Govt = junket?
