Speed week (SBS at 1pm) today has some coverage on the new 2009 Independent Race Series.
In one race Joe Mc Guinness has his (“Improved”) XY GTHO Falcon takes on a BF V8SC and a Monaro and an (“improved”) Super Brute. The XY is gorgeous. Its a new series and is one of a few taking on CAMS by providing low cost door to door racing without the unnecessary bureaucracy associated with CAMS. These are all great ways to take your car door to door racing without being a subject to regulations which change by the time you get your car built. http://www.irace.net.au/ Other low cost race series include http://mraseries.com.au/ Something called “Star Car” but info is light. The Victorian Motor Racing Championship And “Top Gear” races at Wakefield and Queensland Raceway as well as occasional races at Lakeside So get that car out of the shed and avago! Its great fun and the competitors are generally really welcoming with a “more racers the merrier” attitude. |
