Initially, I think the edit will be for the AU V8's only. The I6 is yet to be cracked from what I've heard, as it's a Aussie only motor, where's the V8 is of course the US born Windsor.

Yep, thats what I thought. Seems the i6 is particularly hard (or not worth it to some) to crack...

Apparently the AU I6 (including VCT) will be avaliable at the same time or very soon (weeks, not months) afterwards.

Tis a great thing

If that turns out to be the case, it wouldn't be too hard to convert to MAF-based PCM from an AU V8....

sounds good... is it expensive?

A number of people are doing this with the XR6T's

Use the edit to take off torque tags, limiters, change settings for stall etc, then do a tune real-time with a chip for faster more accurate tune

Although it could get expensive if you dont already have a chip

What if you have a manual? It seems that the edit is designed for the auto's, what benifits does the edit have for the manuals?

Not faster, nor more accurate.

The only piggybacks being used for turbos are for boost control, and after the latest round of updates, i doubt whether or not we will see a need for them at all.

The faster or more accurate theory we threw in the bin with the 260 race program.

Also had my car on the dyno after recieving more software upgrades and i am now at 255 rwkw with an auto.

The only unichip 260 with same/more power than this never ran near to me to support its dyno sheet, even with a gun launch.

so how much of the power you gain from an edit is up to the tuners experience ?if you go to get an edit will you still get the same increase as if you went to another tuner ?
thanks jake

Hi Chris, not bad a extra 20 rwkw just on software upgrades, no reason why all 260's cant run a 12 soon...
Anyway best we get back to the AU Edit...
